How much performance (hp-wise) does the 9 lose when one has a "trouble code" flashing? Does sled always go into limp mode on all the codes? The reason I ask is cause, I have been having flashes for my pipe sensor and I had sled on dyno. I had the problem before and after the dyno run. It is my understanding that when flashing sleds goes into limp mode- it reduces timing. Is that correct. My hp numbers were low ( - 10hp) and I am wondering if my sled was in limp mode. I told dyno guy about this and he stated he would be able to tell when timing is reduced by looking at his power graph. The hood was up and we could not verify flashing light positively. I am just wondering if this was happening. My power was at 7300 not 7600 to 7800 where ist is suppose to run at and I was getting weird egts ( 1 cylinder was 200 degrees colder the whole time) and o2 sensor readings.

the 5-flash is a bit odd too, it needs a funky reading from the EGT for a minimum of 2 minutes over 4,000 RPM before it will trigger the light. I have never been present for a snowmobile dyno run, but I dod not expect each run to last over 2 minutes.
yes it will drop the performance into limp-mode, but I do not know how much is lost percentage wise. the ECM bases it's decisions on the other sensors more heavily when this happens.
What was the air intake temperature & baro. pressure for this dyno run? those 2 items could easily cost HP numbers. and isn't there a formula to compensate for this?

Yeah it prolly wasn't effected then because the several runs were all under 2 minutes each. Yes it was corrected for temp and all that. I still had weird readings from the exhaust stuff though.

what kinda power did it make? another point of interst also. everbody clutches to what the dyno always tells them. but we all know these 900s are different. a local guy that does clutching here did some clutching on these things. all three he clutched differently. mostly he likes to grind the weights. he said sled a he clutched to 7200 it ran good there sled b ran good at like 7500 and one he clutched at like 7700. he said all 3 of them if u ran them side by side u could hold hand thats how even they are.. so one point is clutch your sled were its happy not necisarily were every body says it should be. he has a 1000 foot track in the field and uses gps basically to track sppeds. one fusion stock did like 89 mph stock he picked ip up to 102. thats a pretty good gain. so maybe this tells us there is huge differences in every one of these sleds.

wow a little less than what slp says eh!!!!!! how does your sled run with the slp kit? did u try the twins?

Like I said earlier I think there is something wrong with mine. They had a 900 on the same dyno with only a slp reflash and airbox plus the v-force and it made 160. I have the pipe & can and the porting too, plus all that stuff. I am going to go thru my sled and see whats up and redyno here in MI. I actually lost 13hp with the twins, but I think I have to spin those a lot higher. I am going to check with crank shop. I think mine runs pretty good. It is way faster than it was stock.

a bad EGT sensor will affect your power if the light is flashing or not. The sleds performance will suffer, it just doesn't trigger the light to warn the operator until the 2 minute thing has been met. but it does affect the Mapping chosen by the ECM.

Well that sucks. I am thinking that is prolly it. I didn't know mapping was affected with no fault flashing. I should have changed it. I will now. Is there anyway to clean pipe sensor? I sprayed it with brake cleaner, my dealer said they use some type of jewerly cleaner on them.

I had the same problem code but I didn't notice any change in performance. I did replace the sensor myself though and that cured the error flash.

Yeah normal trail riding or seat of the pants I doubt one would even know. But I had mine on the dyno- paying $$ to tune it. It didn't seem to be a big deal riding it- but I know it was retarding the timing.

when my EGT went out It made the sled run worse then normal (My 05 Fusion) it would not even idle! and just a total dog (more than usual)

huh, mine seemed to be rather normal- other than the 5 flashes coming on from time to time. I rode it for awhile like that.
