I found a four driver 2004 drive shaft out of a 440 XR race sled.
Will this fit? {I can't imagine why not}
I'm thinking 4 drivers are better than 2.
It probably has the bigger 3/8 bolt in it, and may be hollow?
Thoughts?

Four drivers is a huge bitch to try to get in and out. Not sure if it will fit, I don't see why it wouldn't, but I'd wait for better information. What happened to your old driveshaft?
I have three drivers on mine. They removed one to make it a little bit easier to take out.

Nothing happened to my old one. I am going to pull it out,in the off season, and drill out it out for a 3/8 bolt.
But I came across this one, and thought if I was going to have it out, why not go with something better.
Probably not worth the BS, just me over engineering something, that really doen't need to be.

Going to pull mine and drill it to 3/8's this summer as well. Nothing like preventive maintenance.

That's why I'm happy there is this forum.
I wouldn't have known there could be a problem, until it was too late.

My buddies bolt broke off about an 1/8" inside the shaft we tryed a long drill bit but we cant even start to drill into that bolt. The 4 driver one is the best and will fit, but you have to take the chaincase out to install it. There are 3 sprocket ones so you dont have to pull the chaincase off too. The 4 sprocket one is way nice though cause your track can be looser and not have any ratcheting.

This is the one I was looking at on ebay. Maybe your buddy should buy it since you can't drill it out.

The '04 440 shaft does not have the 3/8" bolt, I think the IQ 440 had the hollow shaft with the 3/8" bolt, but not positive on that.
