Cross posted this from Amsnow and I hope D&S Racing doesn't mind. Seems like there is a big discrepancy between the two reports. I'm not trying to cause any hard feelings, just trying to provide information. buttrock.gif

Update:

Here are the facts...

The ice CURRENTLY has about 6 inches of standing water on it.
On top of the water is snow/slush.
Dave has tried to repair the track you used last week, as he plows the track it fills with water and slush behind him.
Dave has tried to plow a track 100ft away from last weeks track, as he plows the ice, snow, and water form 10ft snow cones and the track back fills with water and slush.
Dave has tried every day this week to salvage something out there.
That much standing water and snow is NOT going to drain off overnite.
The track condition is worse than last year by tenfold.
As of right at this moment, the entire bay is not safe enough for prostock sleds to race.
Unless by some miracle by Mother Nature or God, one night is not going to be enough time for the water to drain off that bay.
Yes, it is supposed to get a few degrees colder, but its not going to be enough to run on Saturday. To be meaningful or have an effect on the ice we have to have temperatures in the teens, on clear nights for a least a week. Cloud cover acts like an insulator and doesn't allow the cold of space in or the heat of the earth out. We have had cloud cover since Sunday and no break in the clouds until the middle of next week.

Here are the facts, as we know them. We promised to keep all of you updated so you all can make your own decisions based on our observation of the conditions of the ice on the bay. Now, it's killing us to think that we can't make this happen, because it sounded like the best time ever on the bay. We, D&S, have standards to uphold, that is what makes our track set ups safe for prostock/open mod sleds. People's safety will always come first and then second the protection of all equipment (ours and everyone who uses our track).

Our official position goes like this.... We believe the current conditions of the ice on Anchor bay are not safe for racing prostock or open mod sleds. As of this moment, we suggest you make secondary plans. We do not want you all to come down here to find out we're not going to set up the track. We are leaving the decision up to you, whether or not you come down here, because we know a lot of you have long way to travel.

We will be going out there tomorrow to check on the conditions and then again Saturday morning, before we make our final decision. If on Sat morning, if we find puddles on the track we will not set up the track. If we don't run on Sat, we will check again on Sun to see if we can run. We will let you know whatever the case.

It's all of your own personal decisions whether you make the trip or not. It would really suck if we couldn't make this happen, but there are other weekends and other places. Maybe we could all put our heads together and figure out another place to run, if you don't want to go to the Phatman.

If you would like to call Dave and find out directly he can be reached @ 810-397-5901. Give Dave a call on Friday nite or even Sat morning if you are still considering coming down here.

Where is White Lake. I mapquest it and found one that is up 75 then west to white lake road and ormond road near duck lake. Over towards a town called Clyde (well it is about an inch away on the map.

Will anyone be there Sunday, we only have stockers, 600 and an 800 (twins) with chisels.

You've got the directions right but you'll want to take Ormond till it dead ends at M59, take a right heading W a mile or two then take a right on Duck Lake Rd, park at the boat launch a mile or so down the rd.

Not sure how many folks will be out tomorrow? May not be worth your trip, if it were me I wouldn't do it. The only sleds running chissels or picks on the strip are pro stockers for the most part.

Our F7 is a stocker, all 700cc motor and stock pipe, with chisels. You always have to wonder about the guys that say they "ONLY HAVE A STOCKER" and willing to make the trip .............. Hope yours is running low 6's

WL is lookin good for sunday

franks sled is running low 6's? sweet now i know what iam running about then
i wanted to come over and see what he had done to it but you guys loaded up and i had the flu so i had to warm up in the truck for a few
oh i almost forgot i was the guy with that "stock" mach z grinning-smiley-023.gif
PLUMMER
Which Mach Z ???? haven't seen many. Are you talkin about the trail track or the D&S track???
Rhubarb
DooSkiX Thanks for the info

PLUMMER my sled is my trail sled with a dyno port pipe, I didn't say I was coming there to whip the world with my stock sled. I just like to go different places and screw around on the ice. My sled is not anything special by any means, I don't need to build my ego by putting different stickers on my hood and beating people and lying about what is under the hood. You can look for yourself and pull the motor apart. I just like to go out race and then have a few beers, it gets boring around here racing the same 4 people every weekend and having the smallest sled.

I guess it is okay for you to have a stock F 7 but no one else can have a stock sled. I asked the question so I would not waste my time by going and there only being a bunch of P/S and then waste their time as they wonder why and the hell I was racing them. Its no fun getting beat that bad or beating someone that bad.

As for making the trip it is probably only 30 or 40 min from the Ambassador bridge and I am only 20 min south of that. I just like to go out and meet different people and have a good time.

Nope not running low 6's as even the imp stk 600 & 700's weren't running that at the series this year, the I/S 800's were in the low 6's the Stk F 7's were in the mid 6's. I guess you should have went to the series with your stock F 7 if it is running low 6's you would have won.

Sorry if I sound like a dick but I just get tired of the responses given to simple questions sometimes on these forums. Everyone jumps on you because they do not know you. I don't know you so I guess your post may have been written in a different manner than I took it as well!!

I guess I'll just stay home tomorrow..

Mike, hold on there, you got your panties all tied up in a knot over nothing. Can't imagine what you'd do if something really did happen. No one is saying your not welcome, and what I said about stock sleds is usually true. We have a porta tree so we'll get to see what were running. There will always be some sleds comparable to you to run no matter where your at here. I would suggest Anchor bay since it will have the most sleds, and let me make it clear you are more than welcome to come, and I guarantee you'll have a good time. racing 50-100++ sleds thru the day.
Rhubarb
Yeah I know it was a little over board. I was pissed about some other stuff Sunday was well and just in a bitchy mood. I should have come as we didn't really do much around here all the guys that ususlly come out were hung over from a Jack and Jill on Saturday.

Maybe if it is still cold next weekend, need some timers to try some different set ups.
