HAVE A 1999 SCRAMBLER AND LEFT FRONT HUB WILL NOT DISENGAUGE HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS.MY KID WRECKED IT INTO A TREE AND TORE OFF THE CONTROL ARM AND HAD TO DISSASSEMBLE HUB ASSEMBLY - ANY IDEAS?

Have to taken it apart. I had a cracked hub and it would not disengage.

Have you tried backing up, has the oil turned to slidge. Do you have power to both hubs.

IT HAS 4WD WHEN APPLIED BUT WHEN IN 2WD THE LEFT FRONT TIRE STILL SPINS AFTER THE DISASSEMBLY ALL THE
PARTS WERE CLEAN AND OIL WAS NOT SLUDGED UP. I DID HAVE THE MANUAL AND PUT IT BACK TOGETHER FROM THAT AND REPLACED THE OIL.

How about the little switch in the shifter. That may allow voltage to be applied to the hub.

WHAT SWITCH! THE ONE ON THE HANDLE BAR
redxcr440
no, there is one inside the shifter. I had one go bad on my 94 sportsman.

I have the same problem practically, we have a 1995 polaris 425 magnum and while we are in 2wd the right front wheel will kick in everyonce in a while it gets annoying when u are spining the tires and the front end jerks over
polaris_paul
My 1999 polaris 400 when i spin the wheels in 2wd the left front wheel will kick in, its anyoying, what should i do?

try backing up 10ft and then go... we own 3 polaris scramblers and none of em have that problem. when's the last time you changed the hub, and 4wd fluid?
polaris_paul
I just got the quad and im doing work on it before summer and i will change all the oil when it gets warm, but i think its electrical because, the 2wd will be on, i will be spinning, and the left hub will just bang into gear while its spinning.
