Rode the sled in this morning from Lakeville to Chaska....rained like a SOB! Every trail I rode was chit! Don't any of these area clubs use their freaking groomers when we have a foot of snow on the ground? I thought chit would be smoothed out for the new snow??????? Goggles kept icing up, but it was better than getting stingers in the eyes when I would take them off.....I'm looking forward to riding past all the traffic jams on my way home tonight! Hopefully riding in the blizzard will be better than driving!

Bummer that its raining outside the metro.
I'm just North of Brainerd, 7 miles, near Merrifield. We had maybe 1 or 2 inches over last night. Its foggy right now, and light flurries, no wind as yet. Barometer is really low, 29.5 (dunno how accurate , but it seldom goes that low on my cheapie baro.) Temp 31 F.
Groomers were out earlier this week, trails are open, excellent in woods and shaded areas, some minor bare spots in open full sun areas. Lake riding is good with several inches of powder, but if we get strong winds,it will get bumpy. Better riding close to shore line.
I rode about 80 miles Tuesday up to Emily, then south to the Bridge Tavern N. of Crosby, and back. Not bad for MN lately. I hope we get the dumping the WX is hypeing, otherwise the trails will be travel worn by Sunday. As long as there is rideable snow, I'm sure the groomers will be out.
PM me w/ questions if anyone needs more info. I am an officer in the (all volunteer) Crow Wing County Snowmobile Trail Association.
Think MORE snow.

I'm in Ely and we're getting screwed again. Not one flake all day. I've been watching the radar all day and it comes toward us and then splits and goes North and South. Just like all this year, and just like all last year. I think I'm cursed.

I'm guessing your gonna see some snow, if your watching the midwest radar there is a very heavy patch in WI heading NW. but I would reccommend heading about 15 mi north of cloquet; after this storm your gonna find about 3-4' there
Quick update we have about 8" since this morning in Minnetonka

Two Harbors - Heavy snowfall, 50 mph winds, 50 feet visibilty. Goin out tomorrow for a while and out on Sat with a small group. firered I'd like to hook up groups but my little 500 fan 121 just barely had enough at WOT to keep moving forward in the drifts today. I am going to look into transplanting what parts I can into the 700 in the morning.

We have probably 10 inches so far in Alborn, and crazy winds. ZERO visibility. Took the Bearcat 340 out today, topped out at 30 in this deep stuff. LOL I'd say we have close to 3 feet on the ground in most spots, and many 6 foot drifts. Trails are immaculate!

shane, people are meeting at my house at 9:30am. im taking my daughter to my moms house at 900 and then back to the house. i have to tighten my track up alittle and im ready to go. we are planning to meet up at the state trail parking lot on hwy 2 at 1100am to meet up with kyle beardlsey, todd johnson, and mike brant, alos we will have lorne, jeff, jason, ryan bergerson, myself, and you are more than welcome to join. the more the less i have to work when i get the summit stuck! lol. we plan to run the state trail to the lane road, up the rosinni,to the powerlines than go out into the deep stuff from there! its going to be insane.you know how much the rosinni area gets all the time. prob. at least 12" more than we got here. and the drifts should be almost inpassable if we try to go up the power line. we might have to break the trail from the top down this time. the first hill on the power line is usually the worst!. late lunch at the lake. is verone working today. if so we'll see here there. let me know whats up..
