Guys, This is a problem I am having on a 2001 440zr Sno Pro. I am writing in here because I think there are some knowledgeable guys that might have some suggestions. This starts fine, but when I get 1/2 mile down the trail it starts bogging and I can't get the RPMS past engagement. I have to shut it off and wait for about 15 minutes then it runs another 1/2 mile and starts acting the same. Guys I have tried a lot of things, so I want to get back to the basics and I will welcome any and all suggestions.
Thanks

assuming the motor is healthy, look for a pinched fuel tank vent line.

Good Suggestion, I will just loosen the gas cap tonight and see if that fixes the problem.
Any other suggestions are welcome. I have thought that maybe the fuel pump is bad? Maybe a cracked gas line? It is really frustrating.

Update:
I found one problem so far. The gas line in the tank was missing the filter and was floating to the top of the gas and sucking air. That is not the total fix, but it is a start.

rebuild your fuel pump, it costs $15. if the diaphrams are ripped or the check valves are bad, it will flood your mag cylinder after a short time. also, check your float seats for wear.without more detail, it is hard to diagnose your problem.

after it dies out pull a plug and see if there is any color on them. If its back its flooding out ,needle and seat and fuel pumps is where I would start. If the plugs look normal and it stays running but will not come above 3000 rpm try fliping the choke on and see it it responds . Does it loose spark after the 1/2 mile?

Guys,
I didn't get a chance to work on it this weekend, but I am going to replace the fuel pump and all the gas lines and filters to see it that helps. AKRAY, I have noticed that the mag side spark plug always looks a little wet. Thanks for the help.

I had the exact same problem on my 2000 RMK 700, i tried every thing, fuel pump, jetting, filter, plugs just wouldnt work. Its probably your stator thats gone bad, you can check it out with a meter, but ill bet thats what the problem is, are your plugs white, does it seem like its starving for fuel because if it is its your stator and its not cheap, there about 500 bucks. Hope this helps and saves you some time.

I had the same problem with a 93 XLT. Rebuilt carbs, fuel pump, replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, and tested coils. Turns out the gas cap has a crack in it and allowed water to seep into the tank. It would run great at idle but once you took off the water would mix in with the gas and bog it down to where it wouldn't rev up.
Good luck.

Guys,
I finally figured this out. I believe that there was a piece of plastic or something in the pickup line in the fuel tank. Looks like what was happening was that the float bowls would run out of gas and then the engine would get just enough gas to run. Anyway, I replaced the in tank filter, all gas lines, fuel pump and fuel filter. Wah lah, it runs like a top.
Thanks for all the suggestions
