When I try to open my track in Google Earth, nothing happens and it does not zoom to my track. Is there something special that I should be doing before trying to open in Google Earth?

Thanks

What file format are you trying to view?

Are you trying to open/view the file directly in GE?

If Garmin .gpx or .gdb file format...are you trying to view in GE through Mapsource?

When GE opens does it log on to the server OK?

It is a .gdb file that I open in Mapsource and then use the pull down to "Open in Google Earth"

GE does open properly and log in.

I tried one of the tracks that you posted and it worked fine in GE.

Since you could open my file in Mapsource and view it in GE it would seem that your file is suspect. Can you open any other of your files? Attach the file that doesn't work and I'll try it on my end.

It appears that my files are not saving correctly......... I noticed that they had weird extensions as opposed to .gdb..........I could not get them to save in Garmin GPS Database Version #2, but were able to save as Garmin GPS database Version #1............

I will send you a file to try.

I had the same problem. In Mapsource when you hit "view in google earth" it don't work.

Here's what I did. Save your tracks in mapsource as a gpx file. Normally it will save them as gdb, so make sure you select the file type and save it as a gpx.

Then open google earth on its own, not through mapsource. In google earth just hit "file" then "open", select the file type (gpx) and the location of your track and open it. You can then view your track in google earth. The line is kind of thin though. Still trying to figure out how to make the line thicker.

That worked for me.

I paid the $20 for a yearly google earth upgrade because I thought that was problem. Still didn't work so I saved and opened the file as noted above.

Good luck.

I got your file...opened it in Mapsource and then did the View in Google Earth and it worked fine.

Next thing...do you have the latest version Mapsource 6.11.6 and GE version 4.0.2737?

Did exactly what you described above..............didn't work. Maybe I need to update GE? The Mapsource I am using is updated.
