There have been some complaints made by landowners in the area of D&L Beverage in Hardwick that snowmobiles are finding ways around the locked gate and finding alternate ways around by crossing Rte 14 in other locations....it is understandable that when you are low on gas and expected the trail to be open that you would need to do something....it is not safe to cross above or below where the intended (closed) crossing is located. Someone is going to get hurt...and it is upsetting other landowners. The Hardwick club is trying very hard to resolve this closure issue....so until they do resolve it please pass the word around that there should be, and technically is no way, to cross Rte 14 at that end of Hardwick Village.
