We are heading up to Virginia actually this weekend. Should be about 12 of us total, how much snow should we expect? Are the trails decent?

Keep me posted on how much new stuff accumulates with this storm, probably wont leave until Friday evening.

Thanks.

trails were very icy tonight. about 3-4 inches of fresh stuff was on the trails, and right underneath it was an ice base because of the warm temps earlier in the week. need a good 4-6" more for trails to be considered good. south of virginia got lots more snow.

he trails are good. any additional snow will help greatly... predicting 12"+ so that should help...

Just watched the news and they are predicting 14"-20+" up there! 10"-16" down here in the cities. Im pumped, 2 feet of powder would be awesome.

I dont think it will be that bad. A combination of the whole region having ridable snow plus people maybe not wanting to travel in bad weather conditions. As long as they get the groomers out late friday, it should be good riding!!!!

Supposed to start snowing on the range at 11pm...light snow until tomorrow night. Then we get the big stuff.

The weather channel has reduced the amount of snow for the Virginia area. Dusting of up to 1" overnight, 1-3 on Thursday and 2-4 on Thursday night.

The Virginia Groomer runs weekdays during the day. It has only been out on Tuesday, so far. If the snow doesn't come until Thursday afternoon or Friday, only one section of Laurentain trail will be groomed.

I groomed the trail from Eveleth to Virginia on Monday night about midnight, it was in pretty good shape after I got done and the base is very Icy underneath the fresh snow. The trails down south towards Cotton were mint this morning with a good 5-8 inches of fresh snow packed on them as I groomed that trail last night and went to Cotton for breakfast this morning on the sled, I am planning on doing them again Thursday night down south and again on Monday, then bring the groomer back into town to do that again on Tuesday night

We got a good foot on the ground and more in some areas depending on if the wind could drift it in some places. I plowed the driveway last night and had drifts 2-4 feet high on it, took me a while to push it all into the field thats for sure.. I talked to a group out on the trail to Cotton last night they were at the Bar and they said there was a ton of snow out in the woods on the trail, even enough to go do some off trail riding in the swamps and powerlines..

currently we have 14" on the ground. with as high as 5' drifts... and it's still comin down.. they've closed almost every school in the area, roads are horrible, but that trails are amazing!!!
