I am wondering if anyone has ever owned a '99 ZRT 600 and can tell me which weights, secondary spring, primary spring, helix I should use to get the best performance?? I have tried 3 different springs, 4 sets of weights, a couple helixes. I am starting to get sick of trying to get it right! I have PSI pipes, V-force reeds, Power breather, 60/52 helix, porting on exhaust side, my jets are at 340 mains. I am hoping someone has experience with a '99 ZRT 600. I tried a previously posted set up for a '97 ZRT 600 and it did not work on my sled! Any help would be appreciated! It was over revving with stock set up and that is why I am trying to make it work right!! I am supposed to rev around 9200 to 9400 according to the paper that came with my pipes!! Any one out there that can help?????

Have you had the tach checked out you might be chasing a problem that isnt there? What were the other set ups you tryed?

No I believe my tach is fine! I am presently running a yellow primary(stock) 50.5 grams weights, 60/52 secondary, red secondary spring on the middle hole. I have tried green primary with 50.5, 52.5 53.5, 56.5 and I've tried an orange primary with all the same weights. Also tried a 53/38 helix, 60/54, straight 55(stock), straight 49. Tried a green and red secondary spring on a few different holes. Still can't get it to run where it goes good. Any ideas?????? Thanks .. Rammer! :-)

Talk to PSI. You can play all year long or just go to the horses mouth...

psi recommended an orange primary(their spring). my 600 spun at 9000 with twin pipes. was wickedly fast. been a while. if you want the specs i can look up at home tomorrow. it was psi specs all the way. their seconday kit. stock gearing. only thing i changed was adding dial a jets and changing the needle jet and the mains and the pilot. the pilot was a factory fix and the needle and main was a dial a jet require.

Sounds pretty much like what i went through with my piped 650. Now i have nearly the entire polaris clutching catalog and still never found the desired rpm's. Ended up being the pipes were not holding enough heat, easy but ghetto way to eliminate this is to wrap your pipes in tin foil and do a couple bursts on the lake and see if you get more rpm, if so get them coated or try to fit the stock clam shells on the aftermarket pipes(don't leave the foil on em LOL, it may catch on fire). I just gave up and threw the stock pipe back on, guess i'm a quiter. Just a thought, I know how frustrating it is when different clutch setups don't do what they should be doing in theory on the flip side though you end up learning way more about clutching then you ever thought you'd wanna know.
