I am just asking the question.
My old man has a 2006 Tundra based on the Freestyle chassis, Has anyone seen this type of sled get tweaked with minimal impact?
The reason I ask is that I borrowed my fathers Tundra to take my 5 yr old son for a ride. I was on a trail, and hit a stump that was just covered by a little bit of snow at about 10-15 mph. The sled traveled over the stump, it was a good but not a very forceful blow. The impact bent the whole sled to the point of 3900.00 worth of damage. Is this normal on these sleds? I have heard of one other case very similar to this with a log over the trail buried under the hard pack.
The tech. at the dealer told me there wasn't a lot of reinforcement in the freestyle chassis and this shouldn't surprise me. I would expect a sled to take a little more abuse than this. I am trying to get some input from the Ski-Doo crowd to see if this a common issue.

Hit a stump once, coming to a complete stop,1-2mph just at the point of stopping bumped stump.Bent tunnel in footrest ares, pushed trailing arm back bending mount.ZX ski-doo.Its amazing the amount of abuse this sled had taken without damage only to have it bend like that on a low speed bump.Fluke?

I have had this happen to 3 friends on the REV chassis. All were going slow "under 15 MPH" and caught there ski. End result was a bent chassis and a repair bill exceeding $3500. Two had insurance and one wishes he did. We have ridden all of our sleds hard and never a problem. All damage happened while running parallel to railroad tracks.

I have a 97 skidoo and I hit a small rock at about 10 mph bent the tunnel and totaled the trailing arm. It took alot of abuse before that without doing anything to it, its weird.
