If this one pans out like they say I'll be riding out of my buddys shack Friday in Kettle River just west of Moose Lake.
Anyone from that area ?
Are they grooming or will they be if we get the big dumper?
The Soo Line grade looked rideable from the highway on Monday when I came home from International Falls.
Lots of nice trails in Carlton county rockernana.gif

Our trail and the CC riders trail south to Cotton are in mint shape. Lots of snow on trail about a 4-8 inch base in most areas of it. Just got home I did it all except for the section north of highway 16 to highway 37 there is not enough snow there to do any good. broke a spring mount off of the drag for one of the cutters and had to improvise all but the first 3 miles before it broke, made it back fine just gotta drag out the welder and fix er up again, I broke one last year as well, right in front of this one. Trail looks good and is defianately smooth, made double passes on some of it so it is really wide for a couple miles, still need snow in swamps to cover up stumps but it is very ridable

i guess your definition of ''mint shape'' is different than mine
we drove up to the shack at 5:00 am this morning and got there about 7:30........
we took a look at some of trails in the area on the two roads we take to get back in there and they were really thin....i mean bare ground and grass...but groomed...
i was pissed to say the least........WE DIDN'T EVEN GET OUT OF THE TRUCK......
i wouldn't even ride my beater sleds on shit like that............
we turned around in the driveway and drove another hour up to cook on vermillion.....no better so we turned around and headed for home............
i have more snow at my house 45 minutes north of downtown st. paul...........
i can't believe you wasted your time and fuel to groom the dirt and grass.......
I KNOW I KNOW ......IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT THERE ISN'T ENOUGH SNOW......
next time i'm heading up there(that won't be until you get at least 12''-18''of snow and some below zero to freeze all the water)i'll just call a resort for a report...........
thanks for for the shitty info mr. mint shape..................sorry i don't mean to be an asshole but i mean c'mon ..............what a waste of my time today was

considering how well trail info was received last year I wonder if anyone should even bother?
