i have been out there abit this winter and the caribou are pretty far a t the moment 150+ miles away and that requires agood 35 40 gallon s return for a decent trip.

Last Sunday I got a young Musk-ox.....it was lotsa fun....It was kinda cold out too..-30...but the cold doesn't bother me when I'm hunting.....always fun to go out eh?

yes the cold doesn't do much when you are enjoying the country and also being dressed up makes a significant difference unlike driving in town where your wearing realy nothing to accomodate the cold and how far did you have to go to capture your animal and idi you need a tag because we need tags around here even though we are the inuit just to keep numbers updated i guess.

the caribou numbers are only like that because thats there cycle they are living every so many years the herds fluctuate and the you know change and here the leaders are paniking like this never happened before and they need to realize thats how they evolve. low at this time high at this time you thats is how the animals evolve.

i mean its true mines and sport hunting does have an effect on the animals and also predators like wolves bears they too also have an effect on the caribou numbers i dont mean to put people in the spot we also have an effect on the numbers we eat caribou and plus the population of people is going up so its hard to say the true facts but as a northerner i see what is going on with the animals around where i live.
enjoy hunting take all that you need and use all that you take simple.

Another issue on the caribou. The surveys were all done so far apart in the different areas. What they should've done was do them all within atleast a year apart by herds and it would be more acurate. I love beatingdeadhorse.gif (eating) and uzi.gif tuktu. And I'll support it if we have to limit our hunting. But all I'm saying the surveys should've been done for more accurate results.

And for polaris800rules. Damn I miss going out hunting musk-ox in Ulukhaktok. Miss bowhunting them there. Seen your vid too climbing the hill behind Fathers Lake. Damn there isn't any snow on it eh! By late January it used to have alot of snow and was able to climb right to the top well past what you were himarking. Used to be alot of fun.

thats right surveys were done very far apart
just keep up the hunting and don't waste the numbers will eventually reach there normals .
