Hey all
I'm taking a day off from work this week(either wed or thurs) and I want to go from Barre to Danville/St. J area. Can anyone help me out with locations for gas stops along the way? if I could make it to Marty's and turn around and come back home, that would be an awesome trip for me.
I would be leaving from barre passing WN95 and I think heading on 302 from there, haven't really gotten that far in the planning yet, going to do the whole route tonight. My goal is 100 miles in a day, round trip.

Did roughly the same loop on Saturday. We went thru Plainfield and Cabot to get to Danville. The Peacham loop to Marty's is closed (dead end). We did 140 miles...most of the trails were great except a feeder from Lanesboro to Cabot which was about 3 miles of moguls.

Rode 302 from Barre to Groton Friday and it was excellent. As was said, the trail is closed in Peacham, so don't go east at the intersection with 2 and 302 just keep on the rail trail until wn38 cut up through Marshfield to Cabot, hit the rail trail to St. J and that will bring you to Marty's in Danville. Should be no problem if you start with a full tank of fuel. Hope this helps.

The trail in Peacham (2) from where Groton stops grooming to where Cabot starts grooming (about 2 miles) is real rough because currently is isn't assigned to a groomer...but we are trying to get our hands on it here in Cabot....anyway other than that small stretch you are golden...there is gas in Cabot...our groomer has been out twice this week...so you will love the ride...enjoy!

By the way.... many people don't realize that trail 232 through Cabot has two new, wide, steal Bailey Bridges and we have widened the trail over all...so there is more snow and is not really getting the traffic we had hoped it would...it will take you right to the Gas station in town... Be careful because some of our Stop Signs are still buried or have been pulled by the plows...we need to get out and replace them. Enjoy!

THANKS FOR ALL THE INFO - I'M VERY EXCITED FOR TOMORROW!!!!!
here's my route plan.
302 from WN95 into groton
up to 302 and 2 then up from WN38 through marshfield
into cabot taking 232 and 15
down 15B to 234 through danville
into peacham and on 2B at CA14 back to 232 and then loop back on 302
question - is Marty's located at CA109 or is it further into danville?
wish me luck everyone! yes - I'm doing this trip by myself, my cell is charged, the sled has fresh plugs, I'm set to go! hope to be on the trails by 8:15 tomorrow morning.

sorry for the late reply - the ride was awesome! 142 miles total!!! barre to groton, to marshfield, cabot, to walden, over to danville and Marty's for lunch.
Then back from Marty's down through peacham, over to groton, down to barre, back up to peacham and did the groton loop again. trails were smooth, flat, and georgeous! great job to all the clubs!
If you didn't take a day off from work this week and ride the trails, you missed out!!!!!
