What is the consensus on which bearings to use in jackshaft / chaincase / driveshaft? I have to have mine apart for a new chaincase, at 2,000 miles and cracked chaincase & secondary I think its a good idea.

Some say over the counter are as good as polaris bearings. Others say go with NTS bearings (distributed by hi-perf). I plan on keeping the sled another 5 years or so, so I want something that will last.

Thanks - J.P.

I would recommend buying premium sealed bearings, as it would be a drag if your chaincase would'nt hold oil. Nothing wrong with what polaris sells but the price. I recently purchased all 4 for my jack and driveshafts and paid I think 38$

Since 1992 Polaris chaincases are not sealed by the bearings but by the seals behind the chaincase and the seal sleeves on the axle & jackshaft.

Any good bearing from the bearing supply shops will work for the ones in the chaincse. I THINK they are 6202's. Real commom number. The only one you may not be able to source form the parts house, is the axle bearing on the clutch side.

They are 6205 2rs,and very common bearing, same as most idler wheel bearing

I found the chaincase bearing easily from NAPA. Had to get the speedo bearing from Polaris, couldn't find one anywhere else.

The speedo side/PTO side driveshaft bearing is a part # RA100RRB in a Fafnir brand, or equivalent. Your local bearing supplier will be able to cross reference it to somethign they have in stock. The ringette's are part # 52MSTR2 PAG. Also a Fafnir brand #. I keep a few bearings in my toolbox's for the 10 o' clock in the evening breakdown.
