Hi,
All my buddies baled on me. I haven't been in the valley area before. I have a map and I plan on heading out on Sat. morning. Anyone going to be in the area? I don't race and don't travel very fast in new places.
I was thinking of heading to Borden's and then maybe down to New Germany or Middleton for a meal and then back to Windsor. Anyone know how far of a trip that is?
Thanks
Wrench

Sorry to hear your buds bailed on you.
We off loaded at Falmouth on Wed., 1st time on this section of trail. We off loaded just passed their club house, start from their trail 1 & into 101. (from the map I have dated. 2003-2004). Got directions to club house from HCS & Snow Drifters website. I even stopped & asked for directions (my wife would have been proud of me, as I neaver stop & ask). Here are the directions as best as I can remember & reading my notes. Their club house is on Eldridge Road on the right of road (going in), Red building next to ball park & recreation area.
We went down the road a bit further & off loaded at trail head, bit tight if you are trailering trying to get turned around. Would suggest you drop in club house for more info. It was closed when we got there early. Other popular spot to off load is called Mine River Road (not sure how to get to driving in truck.
Take exit #7 off the 101, turn right (west onto Hwy 1), you take the 1st left onto Falmouth Back Road. (it's a y in the road with Pothier Motors Dodge dealership, keep it to your right). Watch for signs for golf course as you will take a left off this road & go past golf course called Avon Valley Golf Course. Eldridge Road is the 3rd road on your right. Hope you don't get lost & my directions are 99% correct.
Boys at Dodge dealership were great giving us directions, I guess because I drive a Dodge, my buddy was in a Ford.
When you get onto the 101 west trail at Falmouth, not sure the distance but you will come to a "y" in trail, on your right trail sign nailed to tree calling trail "Brian's Trail" take this trail as it will connect you to the 101 or Mines Road trail & you are on your way. Can't give you exact distances as we put on a total of 95 miles that day, but we did some touring on the local trails. We went as far as KS-34 (Junction of 101 & 2) on return it took about 2 hours to get back to where we parked the trucks (average speed 30-40 mph & 1 break).
My wife & myself are heading to Coldbrook & off loading & staying at the Wandlyn Inns , leaving around noon from Middle Sackville for 2 days of riding. Maybe will see you on the trail, riding Polaris. I'm sure there will be lots of sledders in the valley this weekend, lots of snow & beautiful trails.
Have a safe trip & hope my directions don't get you lost. I'm sure others will answer your questions as I have used this forum many times to get info. on trails in N.S. (New to the area moved from Labrador)

to get to the mines road brige, instead of turning right on to the eltrige road to where the club house is, keep going straight till you get to a stop sign, when you reach the stop sign turn right and follow that road, it will have a few sharp right and left turns, the road will eventualy come to snow covered and dirt keep following that road tillyou come to a bridge, just befor the bridge is where the snowmobile trail comes out on the right, and you have to got throught the mines road to get to the valley.
but if you know where your going it takes the same amount of time to go from the club house to the mines road bridge, your best bet is to unload at the club house and go, but take ur time and follow the signs, if you leave from the club house your best bet is to take the golded glo trail. but instead of taking the golden glo you can take some snocovered roades that are trails and its a little faster, and comes out at the same place

Thanks for all the tips. I think I will launch from the club house and maybe head to Borden's and back. That should fill the day nicely. I am guessing there will be a fair bit of traffic around.
I see the KS-34 intersection on the map. I wouldn't have thought it would take a couple of hours to get from there back to the club house. I am hoping to get to Borden's on a full tank of gas. Does anyone know if that makes sense? I ride a 97 AC ZR 580 EFI and I can get 80+ miles on a tank of gas.
