would the flywheel be balanced separatley if i added one to my existing clutch or
does the clutch have to be changed with one that came with a flywheel?

thanks

Have to change it to a clutch with the ring gear.
The sheve is thinner and there are holes for the ring gear mounting bolts.

I have a 05 800 xcsp and installed electric start. The polaris kit came with a replacement primary clutch assy with a flywheel gear for the starter attatched, just transferred the spring and weights. Easy change over. My old primary now for pull start did not have predrilled holes for flywheel ring attatchment. So a complete primary was needed.

As was said, you need the different clutch with the ringgear on it. Its not that hard to change. Just pull the old clutch, put your spring and weights in the e-start clutch and reinstall.
