Whats the point? By the time you are done with all that work, you'll have spent a bunch of money for really nothing.
You'd be better off just buying a sled with an extra 10 in it.
I"ll see you mine for $1,500. You pay for shipping. I don't need 3 sleds.

1998 xc 600
HTG Pipes
Chopper City Heads
V3 Reeds
SLP air box and boost bottle
Tempa Flow
New track and 144 studs
Clutched and ready
New Belt too!!

I"ll even throw in a case of oil.

I put an xtra-10 skid in my sons 1988 Indy Sport this past summer. It is a pretty easy swap. I had to relocate both front and back mounting holes, which also involved removing and relocating the plates. My son says the sled rides 100% better now. I also put in a lightest rear spring that was available for it.

I picked up the skid on ebay last spring for around $100, took it apart and re-painted everything and replaced all the bearings. I think it was money well spent.

You would be hard pressed to find a sled of the same year that is in as good as shape as this one. It still has the original seat cover on it and there are no rips or holes in it.
