I have a condo at Evergreen, the riding wass decent prior to the storm and great after. 5 of us broke the trail for the groomer over to Evans Notch. Awesome riding, the gate was still closed at the entrance to the unplowed road in the notch though. I understand that there was not enough snow prior to storm, should be open now though.

if you leave from the condos in evergreen valley on the state trail going to fryburg the bypass is on the right aprox 2 miles from the condos.

I rode from Fryeburg up 19 through the notch to Gorham and back via Kezar Lake on Wednesday.....it was considerably better the furtur north you went. In Fryeburg things are sparse at best, need more snow. Go over the notch and it was a dramatically different world......didn't see the ground much at all (unlike down in Fryeburg). The trail over Deer Hill to the notch is at least passable unlike some years. The lake is rough to say the least.....good luck going over 60 mph with all the drifting. Trails in Lovell were groomed nicely.

It's not that you couldn't figure it out, but I bet I know a couple of your problems. First, you probably didn't look at a map and went by signs on the trails alone. If that's indeed the case, then you flew right by the trail on your right about 2 miles from the condos on Shell Pond Road. That road is usually pretty flat and it's very hard to see the sign for the trail over Deer Hill to Evans Notch. I've blown by it several times and I know exactly where it is. Nice riding up that way, but unfortunately when I was at the condo there was barely enough snow to go cross country skiing.
