i would really like to use Ryde FX shocks since ive had gerat luck with them on my ProX. i want reseviorss and clicker adjusters in the rear skid and just clicker adjusters in the front shocks. im also trying to not have to buy new ,so im looking for used.

well since the front track shocks are interchangeable between the edge and prox skids that one is a no brainer...just need to find a RFX front track shock out of a prox
next is the rear track shock, does anyone know if a prox shock can be modified to work in the edge skid? i have a new RFX rear track out of a prox at home and that would be awesome if it could work.
now on to the front ski shocks. if i coulc find a set of RFX solo's out of a 50th aniv. edge that would work out great but those are pretty hard to find. soooo any ideas? Can a prox front RFX be modified to work in an Edge ?
I know WE's can but dont really know to much about them.

What kinda shocks came with the xc?
700proxrider
so far i have a chassis with no shocks.

Standard xc sp or edge X shocks with stiff springs won't do it? Shimmed if you want it lower or just a ski widening kit

I used stock Ryde FX from a 2002 edge in the front on my first edge triple and they worked fine. I'm using 50th anniversary clickers all around on my current edge triple and they work very well.

My 02 Chassis has ryde fx's that I had rebuilt by jbshocks and he recommended Polaris 90/180 springs? thats where I went..

I have a set of those 90/180s I'd sell reasonable. Also straight 120's. I had them on my GenII XCR for a couple hundred miles. PM if interested.

Now using straight wound springs from an Ultra Touring....... Not sure of rating, but they work pretty good with std Edge Ryde FX fronts. They seem to carry front end at good height, and to be getting full stroke without bottoming often at all (finally - after trying several other springs/combos).

Well I basically want this thing to ride like my Prox. After 2 years of playing around with the suspension I got that thing just perfect for me.
I know on the Edge I will be running a dual rate spring set up in the front , after getting that tuned on the ProX I just don't believe there is a better way to go.
I plan on running this thing hard (maybe not ditch banging) but if the trails get bad I don't plan on slowing down so I'm assuming the stock XC shocks just won't cut it.
Ultra,
Where did you get the RFX solo's ? Did they come with a sled or did you buy them new ?
UltraGN
I bought the suspension parts for my edge triple from a 2005 anniversary 600 sled that someone was parting out. I don't know of a Polaris part # for the shocks.

The rear suspension, rear shock form a Pro-x is shorter than an edge. Not sure about the front one. I measured a ProX at Haydays, and if you order the 2 ProX, shorter link rods, it looks like it will work in an edge. I was going to try it, but didn't do it yet.

I wonder what the shock stroke is between the two (rear track shock) , I'm thinking if its close just rebuild the prox shock with a longer rod ..... maybe ?
Or try the shorter link rods like you mentioned.

I'd like to get my hands on a set of front and rear clickers for my Edge, but they're hard to find at a decent price.

I'm by no means a shock expert here, but if you bottom the travel out with the shock, i would think the bottom of the shaft would hit the bottom cap.

You can not adapt the ryde fx rear from a pro to work. Use the fox clicker from the edge. For the skis you could add clickers to the fox shocks. Are you sure that the front skid shock will work? They are the same length but be carefull about cutting the line off or braking the fitting. If you are certain you want to make the pro shock work call me and I will tell you a few things to look at. Remember you will need to mount the remote. Personally I don't think the clicker on the front skid shock would be worth it.
700proxrider
i havent had both skids out (prox, edge) and looked at them side by side to see how different they are , i guess i was assuming the front track shock and resevior would mount the same as the prox. i agree with you jerry about the need for a clicker on that shock, im more about the resevior.
