Alright so not only did I manage to bend my A-arm this week but yesterday as we were loading the sleds in the trailer after a day of riding I realized there was coolant out underneath my dragon.....So this morning I went in the garage, my coolant level is very low (becuase its obviously leaking) but I have no clue where its leaking out of any suggestions.....this has been an awful week, just want to get it fixed and get riding before all the snow melts

Thanks for any help

Thats gotta be it, ill have to take a look becuase I hit a street sign (i feel like an idiot) when travelling along a road, the sign hit the bumper and dented the bumper and cracked the hood hinge....Im taking the sled to the dealer tonight...its going to be ugly, I feel like such a moron how can I check the rad for damage, how do I get access to it?

Thanks for your help

I did a little more than bend the A-arms BUT the radiator never leaked!!!!

If its dripping on the trailer it should be eaisy to find Get one of those mirriors in the extendable handle and flashlight. warm up the sled so you build a little pressure in the cooling system and look around.

WOW, thanks for the sympathy, its not dripping in the trailer, it stopped when I shut the machine off yesterday...just out of curiousity what did you hit?

EDIT: its leaking out underneath the sled below the right X that you see in my display picture basically 1.5 feet behind where the exhuast comes out of the body...does this mean that it is the rad?

A Tree, I faired better than the sled, hope to have it back on the snow next week. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

If it is leaking from the rad, does that mean I will need a new one, how much will it be....I have a feeling this is going to cost a fortune cussing.gif

For around $20 you can buy SLP Radiator delete kit. That is what I did.

Cory there is no air cooled rad on the front of the 06 or 07 dragon they did away with it to save weight so it wont be that to worry about.

The 06 dragons DO have a front mounted radiator. Only the 07s are without.

I"ll make you feel better. I have an 03 XC800 Edge X M10 Ace that I blew up last Winter. It's my wife's sled now, just rebuilt the motor and took it to the local ice strip to make sure it ran right. We are heading North this weekend to ride. I do a couple of passes and the sled is running great. On the last pass I hear a bang in the tunnel. When I stop there is a 2' section of outside track missing and anti-freeze running everywhere. The chunks of track hit the tunnel heat exchangers and punctured them with the studs. The sled is junk. Now after a motor rebuild I'm looking at a new track and 1 or more heat exchangers. I'll work on it next Fall, I'm done with this POS.

Maybe just a leaking hose check all your clamps,my 700 seems loose coolant at the clamps, just a thought you may get lucky!

If its leaking out around the exhaust outlet area I highly doubt its the air rad.

Its prob a leak in either the bottle or one of the hoses going to it.

I crashed a month ago off the trail going into a thin corner, down into a stream and through some tree branches - hit so hard I flew over the handlebars but suffered no injuries except to my wallet!

A-arm $111.00
Bent Shock - had to rebuild with new shaft - $60.00
Over $300.00 with labor

I developed a leak on my Dragon from the lower hose outlet on the thermostat housing on the motor . It has a barbed fitting and is a sharp 90deg bend and a sloppy fit.

If it's a heat exchanger they can be repaired very easily. 2 weeks ago I threw a pick through my front heat exchanger and leaked all the coolant out. Good old quick J.B weld did wonders for me. Normal J.B weld didn't work U need the quick J.B weld.

OK, now I really have no idea whats going on, yesterday we ran the machine for 20 minutes with a full tank of coolant and no leak...now today I ran the machine around my house for anotheer 15-20 minutes and still no leak....anyone have an idea, I still have a full tank of coolant in the sled and its not leaking anywhere

EDIT: I filled it up yesterday, when it initially leaked out there was only very little left in the coolant tank

Any thoughts?

LAST MONTH THE CAP ON MY BOTTLE CAME LOOSE FROM DITCH BANGING, PUKED COOLANT OUT OF THE OVERFLOW BECAUSE IT GOT DEPRESSURIZED. FOUND THE PROBLEM FILLED TIGHTENED CAP AND NOW I WATCH IT NO MORE PROBLEM. OVERFLOW WILL ONLY DO THAT WHEN RUNNING.MAYBE THE SAME WHERE YOU HIT SOMETHING, JUST A FYI.

Ya I was thinking about something like that, becuase I ran it today and I didnt loose any fluid so its a possibility

Polaris 440 it's a loose clamp don't worry about it, if you had a rad leak it would not stop, the clamps however are prong to leaking due to expansion from hot and cold i' m sure you will find it! Good luck
