how good are ski-doo's tether cords (DESS)as a theft deterrant can the sled still be started and stolen i know that it can be started but will not rev high enough to engage the clutch

it will not start if the tether is unhooked, but it will start if it is not put in right but it will not rev high enough to go. at least thats what happens to my buddies skidoo

Thats how mine is also, Now on F series cats you can just unplug the kill switch and give it a pull, starts right up no key needed that is the dumbest thing I ever saw, My buddy put a toggle switch down under the exhaust so you cant see it. We have one bar up here that has had alot of sleds stolen out of the parking lot. Actually last week 2 guys had there windshields stolen there, THAT SUCKS
