Anyone else having this problem?
Maybe they are just cheap boots, but the rubber soles are melting and getting torn up on the rails.

make sure you jump into powder (with the sled) once in a while. I have similar boots and don't have this issue but when I got the sleds, they told me to keep that area cool.

The SLP vent kit may be a summer project for me.
Are they easy to install?

No more melting. My last ride was a 4 day trip around Munising. Lots of snow off trail and the strips seamed a lot cooler. Most of the previous miles were in low snow conditions. Its actually nice that the footwells stay melted -- no ice buildup like on my last sled.

i have a 2005 frontier touring..its a 4 sroke.
it melts my boots.
i stop and kick snow on the running boards all the time.
the heat exchanger is under the running boards.
my feet roast...right side is the worst.

other than that it is a great sled...over 11000 miles

11,000 miles, that is awesome!
I have an 04 Frontier Touring, only got 3000 miles so far.
Right foot does get warm, only noticable on warmer days.
Today I did 80 miles in temps 5 degrees above freezing and breaking trail in 16" of fresh powder in some places, it got pretty warm.
I am told that modding the clutching on these thing will make them work better top end, trying it next season.
Have you done any mods to yours?
