I wish there was a link to this stuff. I can find some here or there...

Anyways wife and I like to help the sport, we like to support clubs or whatever is going on to bolster the snowmobile community. We are going riding this weekend for sure somewhere on a day trip.. Probably saturday. If anyone knows of any winter fest type activities or poker runs or something please post here. We like to go out and meet people and enjoy the day....

Or if anyone is looking for a nice day ride PM me or post here. We are by the dells and thinking of heading to southern Wisconsin, east side or west side of state doesnt really matter.....would like to be on the trails by 10am ish..... ride throughout the day then back here by evening. Have two labs cant leave them alone all day or come home to big mess.

Working this weekend but thinking about a trip on March 1. Trails are still closed here and I dont think they will open this year.

Based on the events calander I believe that the Lure event on Petenwell is tomorrow. If anyone knows different, please psot. Thanks!

Anyone who wasn't at lake petenwell this weekend missed some fast sleds! Track was pretty rough and there wasn't much shut down, but was still a really fun time. Top speed was 149 mph! Pretty big turn out too.
Kevin Garceau
I thought it was pretty rough. I didnt have my sled set up for speed runs, just ran it in trail condition. Stiff cross wind got me crossed up a few times coming over some of the slight dips in the ice.... Im sure it cost me a mph or two, trail studs pretty much did nothing grinning-smiley-023.gif

I heard the conditions were rough. I think we're taking the M's out to clutch so if you see us running around the lake, stiop by.

How was the drag race part of the event? I heard there were not many sleds, so they all ran together in one class? If so, what won? We have a Pro Stock 800 that runs under 6 seconds in 660 ft at around 110mph. Sounds like everyone had fun anyway.
Yamaha-ha-ha
Who wouldn't have fun, it was a day on the sled!
Kevin Garceau
I signed up for the drag race, but once I realized I had ZERO for traction. I loaded up and went home. Cant win if you cant hook.

This satruday at South Shore bar/rest. on Castle Rock they are having radar runs.... the bar is a good time. Good food and great atsmosphere. They have a big fireplace in front of the windows, they will set up seating for others to sit and watch the runs right in front.

Then later they will be having a Dj for the evening.

Also made it to the Lure on Saturday. There were actually quite a few 4 strokers. Really liked watching the couple of turbo'd sleds run. The wind was cold though. Was wearing 05 SnoPro jacket & a ball cap, with two other guys......one was heavier set wearing an 04 SnoPro jacket & the other wearing a Blue & Black castle racing jacket........we pretty much just walked the length of the pit area ( which was like a half mile long) down the ice then came back to the start area of the radar runs & watched a few runs. Couple of people we know were running an older RXL turbo, a 98 Tcat 1000, a 340 SnoTwister & a 2000 AC SnoPro 440. (Maybe you saw us, maybe not but I didn't see you).

South Shore is having one?..........May have to make an appearance. Any idea what time the event begins? Around 10am or so I'd imagine.

No studs on mine, but my bro's F7........i mean F5 (muwhahaha) might be running as well as a friend of mine 02 Blue X Edge 700.

Kevin.....let me know if you'll be there.

what kind of snow do you have?
Kevin Garceau
They said registration starts at 8am. I have no idea when the runs will start. I cant imagine it going before ten...but you never know.

Wife wants to go, my buddy and his wife wants to go as well..... I doubt the girls will come out real early, as we will run for a while in the morning then they will come out to hang out and watch.

I have an 07 RTX with billet ski handles, my buddy has an 07 RTX as well but his is all stock looking. I think EJCamaro from TY will be there as well and hanging with us, he is a mod there and lives over here. Nice guy and a great help.

I ended up running a lousy 92mph at the Lure I was spinning horribly and never could make a full run without lifting 3-4 times even with studs. Every time I came across one of those humps I got sideways. But I weigh 300lbs so that isnt helping and only 200 miles on the sled and its not broken in. I may do the gear swap this weekend to kill some bottom end and pick up a little on the top.

I did have one guy approach me with a ridiculously fast AC he was from the TY boards, even with his 1.25 track on I think it still went 112
Kevin Garceau
snow will be gone by the weekend, unless it cools down a bit.

So track should be smooth but no traction for those will trail type studs in.
giantkillerf5
Yeah, snow will be gone before the weekend at these temps.

What kind of AC? TCat? I know a guy....or better put as know OF a guy, that runs a Tcat 900 and was running 116 @ the Turtle. But the guys I do know with the RXL & Tcat...etc., said the track at the Lure was slower (Due to wind & the bumps in the track I would assume).
