Any way to get any more top end speed out of a 1998 Indy 500?? I have it cluched with a Polaris red primary, stock weights, Polaris blue secondary. R11 helix. Pulls real good out of the hole but lacks top end. Would gearing help or is 90mph the best it will do?

Blue secondary a bit too stiff. Go to a gold or red. The polaris red primary spring may not let it hold 8000 rpm up top. They need 8000 for max top speed.

The set up I have in there now is what you initially gave me for the sled. Definatly is better than stock. (had gold pri and gold sec springs) I'll have to jump on it and see what rpm's its pulling (sons sled). He went ridding with his buds the other day and I asked him how the sled compared. He said on take off it was ok but they just pull away from him on speed and couldn't keep up. I know one of the sleds is a skidoo 550.

If I have to open the chaincase because of the brake rotor problem would gearing help or should I just leave that alone.

Stock gearing is ok. If it will run 8000 rpm, loosen the secondary to #2. If he is light, it will pull it. I see you must have meant blue primary and red secondary now that I read it again. Is it the light blue 7041080 spring?
