denREV

WalnutPony
i got a webcam at my place in moultonborough/suissevale and it looks out to a meter stick..tough to tell since snow is blowing, but there is at least 13 inches on the ground..maybe more since it is blowing so hard.
woodynh
Right now there is probably about 8" on the ground but they are still predicting 15" to 30" but it isn't snowing all that hard yet. I hope they are right. You are right the wind is gusty and lowing the snow around.

bump up on this

Alton area we only got about 10" or so. There were a couple lulls in the storm yesterday where it did not snow for up to 45 minutes or so.
woodynh
We probably got about 12" total but no more then that. It is hard to tell because the snow is light and the wind has been blowing it all around.

I was out yesterday afternoon and the trails were being groomed and it filled them in nicely. the riding was very good. The lake was terrible because of the wind it was just big piles of snow. You would hit a two foot drift every ten feet.

I am headed back out for a ride in about 30 minutes. If the conditionds have got better or worse I will post here under this topic

Woody, groomers are out on Red hill. We are headed to Kona and Far Echo grooming later this afternoon. If you haven't been on these trails in a while, they are much improved this year after the excavator went through this fall. I also agree with the no more than 12" of snow. thumbsup.png

Thanks for the tip. I was on those trails with the family last weekend and actully did the Red Hill loop yesterday afternoon during the storm. I need to become active in the club. Every year I say I am going to but just never find the time.

I am headed to California in the morning for work and won't be back until the 25th but we should hook up and ride after that sometime. I usally ride local every Sunday. I have a 04 red and black ZR 900 and usally a Blue Polaris Jacket when I ride that sled. The other sled I ride sometimes is a 04 REV but who doesn't have a REV.

Saw you out there, but you scooted by before I had a chance to wave you down. LOL. We'll hookup for a ride when you return. thumbsup.png

For those curious on trail conditons in the moultonboro area and on the lake I went for a 60 mile ride late this afternoon and generally the trails in the area are very good. Everything seems to be cover and not hitting rocks but there is not an over abundence of show in the woods and this snow isn't wet so it is not packing well. There was a good solid frozen base under it but if everybody becomes a throttle jockey on the trails they are going to move all the snow off the trails. The riding was good and they are out grooming in Moultonboro. I went up to Mt. Shaw via the Castle trail and there is a lot of snow up there once you get up in elevation a little bit. I helped three different people pull there sleds out once they pulled to the side of the trail and got sucked into the fresh snow. Really easy to get stuck up there. I hit a few of the Wolfboro trails on the Moultonboro and Melvin Village side and the groomer had not been out yet but the trails were good but narrower then after they are groomed.

Hit the lake in Moultonboro Bay and it was rough in some areas but others not too bad but the wind is moving the snow it was thin out there compared to the smaller bays and coves. The bays and coves are much smoother but you are definately plowing threw powder and you can feel it.

There will definately be some good riding this weekend but with this type of snow it is going to get beat quick.

Just curious was that you off the Polaris behind the sled towing the drag just after the the neck road?

That was me(spare sled), was mostly in front of the drag knocking down the edges of the trail. The other two groomers were out on the merideth run, and we wanted to get what we could packed down ASAP. Got stuck a few times out there too. LOL.
