Looking at a '89 SRV w/ 3600 miles. Original owner, never been registered, but comes with the original receipt of sale. Sled appears to in very good condition. The track is in good shape, no rips or dry riot, no missing clips. Hood, belly pan, and seat are very good.

What do I look for on the suspension? I not familiar with the front Pogo shocks and don't know what to look for. Are the shocks still available to replace, if they need replacing? Also, with the oil injection system. Being 20 years old do the injection motor need to be replaced from time to time?

Basically looking for some information on the known issues/problems with this model.

TIA

I have owned several SRV's over the years. My biggest complaint is their fuel milage / range. Small gas tank that has a range of only 75 miles, then you are out! The power and suspension are quite nice for that era. I trail rode one for 50 miles last year in Kalkaska and loved it.

Oil injection tends to be "bullet-proof" on the Yamahas. They have offered it since the early 70's. No worries there. Parts are plenty available, both new and on eBay.

Go for it!
