i know its early but i like to start my shoping in advance. i have recently found a liking to the phazer and was wondering what they may be coming out with in 08. larger motors, more hps a crossover model? anything really. i ride a rev now and really like it but this 4 stroke has really cuaght my eye. i do like to drag on the lakes as well as hit the bumps, ride off trail and launch every now and again. i was thinking about a 800 rev or a dragon but would go towards a phazer if they make bigger motors. if not i'll pick up a left over phazer and a larger cc 2 stroke. i wuold also like to use the phazer so my friends and gf could ride it. if they make the phazer in a larger engine i would probably keep the rev as a second sled. also anyone tried the mountain on the trails? hows it handle, i would assume it needs new skis?

I doubt you will see the Phazer go with a bigger engine. The Phazer is supposed to be Yamaha's "entry level" sled. Its meant to be fairly light, affordable, fuel-efficient and fun. It was never designed to be a lake racer. I think all they will do is close off the hole in the tunnel to eliminate any issues with snow buildup on the sides of the tunnel and the running boards.
However, rumor has it that Yamaha is going to put the 120 triple in the Phazer chassis and that is going to be the new Nytro.

yea i'm not looking for it to be a lake racer but the 120 might be cool not sure how i feel about a triple. thats alot of added weight. regardless i just want to see alittle more hps in that baby.

I think you'll see the new Nytro also in the Phazer type chassis with 120 hp

^I agree. The main knock people have against the Phazer is the power. The 120 triple with EFI and some other minor tweaks would be just the ticket.

I say they take a step back and release a 600 VES 2-stroke with 120 HP, and bring the sled down to 440 dry.

Yamaha hasn't had a good 600 since, well...never.

I wish they will never make a 2 stroke again. i would like to see 120hp twin if thats possible.

I gotta disagree with that one. They were just as good as anyone untill '00 and after that all they would have needed was exhaust valves and they would have been just fine.
Their 600s were ALWAYS good motors, just because they werent the most powerfull that doesnt mean they werent any good.

is the turbo upgrade a reliable mod? i'm a huge fan or sleds the will run with no prolems, (i'm sure everyone would like that). i know you always run the risk with mods but i was just curious. is there aot involved with a turbo mod?
