Was riding this weekend and noticed my fuel gauge stopped working on my 2000 XCR 800. Has anyone else had this problem and what was the fix? Or maybe could I get the service manual procedure on how to check the sender and gauge? Thanks.

I have a 2000 xcr and the same thing happened to me and i found the ground wire on the sending unit came off. The sending unit is under the seat cover on te left side of gas cap.

check the fuse

My float got stuck under the hose inside the tank. Used a cot hanger to free it.

Mine had a wire connection right under the steering hoop that got grounded out.
