why in Old Forge ?? Why not on Tug or somewhere else where you don't need a $100 permit to ride overcrowded trails ??
Well it wouldn't be the 2nd annual Old Forge HCS ride then would it?
We start in central Old Forge because it's easy to get to, and there's plenty of riders here that are all set-up by that time of year to be legal to hit the trail, so I don't see a problem at all. The Old Forge/Inlet pass is only $65.00 for the year if purchased early and $80.00 after 11/15 (not $100.00). It might very well prove to be a good investment for next season, because we ride out of there ALL the time, and it's cool meeting other HCS members in the process.
Last year some of the group went up to Timberview at the end of the ride, but the coverage sucked, so this year it should prove to be much better no matter what. The hill would be shot by that time on Sunday anyway, so Old Forge makes more sense, and we'll maybe head over 4th lake up through Moose River Plains to Indian Lake Village. That probably makes the most sense and the traffic would be lighter and trails better. There's plenty of great places both inside and outside (scenic) to stop along the way too and it also covers a pretty decent area at the same time for a full day of riding. Some riders maybe haven't even covered these areas on their own yet this season or ever so that's a plus as well.........
I'm 100% in - no doubt about it!!!!
Riding style? Well forwards and not through the guy in front of you is always recommended...........everyone is invited!!!
Tim - #2 on the list!!!
