Hi boys and girls. The 2nd annual HCS- Old Forge ride will be held on Sunday Febuary 25th. We will be starting out from the Tourist Info office right there in town about 9:30 AM. Have your permits before hand and eat breakfast first. Be ready to go at 9:30AM. Plan on be out on the trails all day, stopping of course for lunch, etc. There might even be some of the girls from the bada bing forum- no, just kidding, but I wish. On a more important issue, this group ride is a zero tolerance one. Of course I/we cannot control what anyone does but in consideration of all concerned. There will be no drinking and riding. If you must drink and ride then don't join us. So who's in?

Any ideas on the route and what is the riding style?

why in Old Forge ?? Why not on Tug or somewhere else where you don't need a $100 permit to ride overcrowded trails ??

Well it wouldn't be the 2nd annual Old Forge HCS ride then would it? hyper.gif

We start in central Old Forge because it's easy to get to, and there's plenty of riders here that are all set-up by that time of year to be legal to hit the trail, so I don't see a problem at all. The Old Forge/Inlet pass is only $65.00 for the year if purchased early and $80.00 after 11/15 (not $100.00). It might very well prove to be a good investment for next season, because we ride out of there ALL the time, and it's cool meeting other HCS members in the process.

Last year some of the group went up to Timberview at the end of the ride, but the coverage sucked, so this year it should prove to be much better no matter what. The hill would be shot by that time on Sunday anyway, so Old Forge makes more sense, and we'll maybe head over 4th lake up through Moose River Plains to Indian Lake Village. That probably makes the most sense and the traffic would be lighter and trails better. There's plenty of great places both inside and outside (scenic) to stop along the way too and it also covers a pretty decent area at the same time for a full day of riding. Some riders maybe haven't even covered these areas on their own yet this season or ever so that's a plus as well.........

I'm 100% in - no doubt about it!!!!

Riding style? Well forwards and not through the guy in front of you is always recommended...........everyone is invited!!!

Tim - #2 on the list!!!

In answering some questions so far: It will be a group ride at a "nice pace" where we should keep the guy behind you in your mirrors, Its not a race or sno cross. As of this time I'm thinking heading up to Stillwater then head towards the Pine Tree in Brantingham, stopping of course for lunch, etc. There are so many areas in New York State to host this ride but I fell there are enough of us that ride in the Old Forge area, so I'm heading up the ride here in Old Forge. If someone else wants to host a different ride elsewhere well thats fine too

Rode with mike today, good riding. Always keeps the group together. I would love to go ride on the 25, but I have class. Anyone looking for a good ride in Old Forge should go.

I'm here now with him - my girlfriend and I just got into town tonight!

Did I just see you and your family at the Knotty Pine Restaurant?

Mike is totally burnt out - he's done 700 miles since Monday and hadn't been in a car/truck in over a week until I drove him out to dinner...lol

I'm in for that ride on the 25th so let's hear from ya if anyone else wants to take part..........

Sounds like fun but I am not willing to pay $ for a trail pass for one day, hope you folks get a nice turnout and have a good time!
