How hard to change out the sliders on a 2004 REV??? Do you have to drop the skid, or do they slide out the track windows?????
Heading North next weekend, & I think I'll be proactive (for a change!!!!) thumbsup.png

Loosen track and believe it a little soapy water and they will squeze thru the window. A screw driver prying helps too.

Helped a buddy do his, loosened the track, enlarged the window slightly using the side of a drill on both sides of one window, rotated the track 180 & did the other side. Didn't take much. Make sure drill bit doesn't ride up to the top or bottom of the window. Re-adjust track.

They'll slide out with some lube but I enlarge the window with a shop knife at the logo so you can find it again. Taper the ends of your new ones and they'll slide out real easy next time.

Why not just take the skid out

its a hour job max to take skid out, replace sliders, bearings and inspect cracks or ovaled holes

Never ceases to amaze me how lazy some people can be

I am not say you in particular btw
Revatola
I took mine to St. Onge it was real easy.

I'm with freezerburnt on taking the skid out. Once the tension is off the track your half way there. Your going to be pretty pissed if you shortcut the procedure and blow out a rear idler bearing. By the time you enlarge the windows you can remove the 4 bolts holding the skid in. As a rule, if you're ready for sliders you should probably replace the rear and upper idler bearings. These can't be properly checked with the skid in. I don't think your lazy. I know we are all looking for an easier way to do things. I've thought of doing it in the sled before, but some things aren't worth the aggravation.
