Ride 207
I just went to load up my sled for riding tommorow and the brakes locked up, i cant figure out why, im sick off all the working on the sleds i do, i want to just start it and go, so im thinkn about goin and buying a bran new one...
wish one is the best? im thinkn an RMK 900 but idk
im kinda scared to buy a summit because my cousins and his friend bought two bran new ones this year and just about every ride they have had to be towed out of the woods, and last time i blew a piston and bent the crank so im thinkn i dont want one of those
I hear the M chassis are real light and chesy and would brake to much in Maine (stumps)
and Yamaha has all 4 strokes i think t would be to heavy, exept the phazer but that only has 80 hp....

if you were to go buy a new one for riding on the tree's wich one would you buy???

The Mseries gets my vote.......obviously, but I would not hesitate to get a new Dragon RMK

Ride an M7 and love it only thing I've rode that I would considered an equal is the new Raw RMK Dragon awesome sled. I'd avoid the 900 RMK like said above there was a reason they were dropped. Excessive vibrations was the main cause but we all not lots of vibrations lead to other problems also all things considering the 900 wasn't that powerfull and was overweight in stock form. It was nothing to take 40#s off an IQ RMK.

i have an 07 summit x 800R 144, i ride in NH and Maine, i love this sled, i haven't had one bit of trouble w/ it, awesome sled i would go w/ a summit...the M's are real nice too

Two local dealers have sold 70 800r summits and they have had 2 blow up. The problem is that a supplier screwed up an order of crank bearings, the ones that are bad are all from that production run; that is why some dealers are having so many problems.

Like others have said go with either the 07 Dragon or M-series. Ride them both and see what you like. Stay away from Poo's 900.

I would have to agree with the M series, my buddy just bought an M7 and that thing goes like crazy. way good! My second vote would be a Summit 800

I was thinking about a new powder sled for the trees on the east coast too. I have been obsessing over the Phazer Mountain Lite and its $7200 price tag. I really want to try one. If I had 10G's I would get Dragon but I don't. I also like that it has very little bodywork and can bushwack without messing too much paint. Is anyone riding the Phazer in the trees?

My bro and cousin have them!

they got them after i made this topic, and they are like made for the east coast riding in the tree's they are so easy to throw around, and have plenty of power, i laughed at it at first cause it only has 80 hp but i was impressed! then they got these kits that give them 12 hp and now they rip, it runs right with my RMK, they throw around so easily so there perfect for the tree's, im considerin buying one for next year... idk we'll see what happens after they get there superchargers Wow1.gif

12 more hp is perfect! How much were the kits? Was it just some bolt on stuff like intake and exhaust? If you see any left overs hanging around let me know. I might try to get a sweet deeal on one later as the weahter warms up.

See if you can still buy a new M7 with 153", the best for the trees.

we went out tuesday and my bro and cousin both brought there phazers and idk they didnt do as good as exspected, there was 40-50" of fresh snow on top of a 3' base and they kept gettin stuck, i know that is alot of snow but my 2002 RMK was doin way better, there fun as hell when we have "average" snow tho, right now there is WAY WAY over average snow and they dont like it

A phazer is pretty much junk. 14 inch track is not made for powder. 80hp and heavier than a m7, m8, m1000, dragon, and summit. All of these are almost double in HP. As far as getting a cheaper sled and sticking some money in it I would go M7. Buy one for 5500 to 6000. Your buddies need a 4000 to 5000 dollar turbo to equal the hp of the M7 and then they are still heavier. Buy a m7 and stick a couple grand in it to equal the price of the phazer and you will have a 150-160hp machine that is alot better boondocker. I have taken my m7's in the trees and over rocks and such out west and haven't had any issues. Bent one set of A arms but that was taken a tree square on after I bucked off on a hill. I was rather impressed at the strength of the sled with how light weight it is. Just my 2cents from experience riding the back country.

i hit a log last ride with my RMk and broke the tunnel... idk if its fix able so it might put a rush on me goin and buyin a new sled, im realy leanin towards the M7 or M8, a dealer not to far away from me has an 06 M7 for $6895... what u think is it worth that, its used idk how many miles it has it says "call" i might call them tommorow
i think m second choice is an RMK dragon
Ride 207
ok and i found an 06 Summit 800 144 for $7000 obo only riden like 4 times...

if it were between that and the M7 wich one would you choose
joshua335
so doo 800=$7000 and M7=$6900. Presuming their both in same shape/miles I think I would take the doo. The rev 800 motor was out for a while and in 06 they seem to have the greatest reliability. As well it does have reverse and the rev chassis performs great. I'm not too sure about the prices thought, I'm from Canada so its a bit different. I don't think you will be at all dissapointed with the Rev.
