Anyone know the ice conditions? Someone at on of the bars said 40-50 sleds were out on the lake by Cranberries. Any info?

I live on Oconners point which is right on the lake. Conditions are great. After the snow on tuesday its even better. Its all packed down and the ice is very safe. We had about 20-30 sleds out in front of cranberries last night, and i think there was even more on saturday. This weekend the lake should be hoppin. drool.gif

Is Shaffer out there blowin' everybody's skis off?
foopaloo09
No, I dont think its livin up to the hype everyone had for it, but dont get me wrong, he let me ride it a couple of nights ago, and its fast as hell and is the best riding sled i have probly ever rode, but ive only rode it on the ice. Chad Coats Mach is actually faster than Shaffers sled.

I don't remember, was it his brother-in-law that had the turbo RX-1? Mike had a 440 ZR Sno Pro that was fast as hell on the grass. He almost won at Hay Days. That was about 5 or 6 years ago. Tell Mike that Randy from Celina said hi.

I do remember that RX-1, but i dont remember who had it, i know it was one of the Shaffers. His son i think is driving that 440 now, but i think he put it back to being almost stock. Ill probably be ridin with him on saturday so ill tell you said hey.

Hey guys i'm from Ottawa 20 miles north of Lima. Today is sunday 2/11 and was wondering on conditions on the lake. Never had a sled on it just boats and jet skis. Can you ride on it now?? Can you go anywhere on the lake? Is it covered with snow at all or is it just bare ice? Where can i park and get on at? Do you have any cooling issues? Or is this more of a race area? Thanks for any info... Chad

Chad, what's up? Indian Lake is froze up pretty good now. After this snow today it should be damn good. You been up north lately?

You should be able to park at Bayview Sun and Snow which is right next to the Bayview Pub where they are starting from. Bayview is right off of St Rt. 219 on the south side of Grand Lake St. Marys. Bayview Marina has a sign right on the edge of 219. Turn right on Bayview Rd. and go down to the end. There should be someplace back there to park. Let me know if that is enough information. If anything, Mapquest Bayview Rd. Celina, Ohio 45822 and that should do you fine! Say Hi to my old man, he will be at Bayview setting it all up!

I was at Indian Lake Friday Thur Sunday. It was great. Ice was plenty thick. Only rode 170 some miles but not bad for lake riding in Ohio. Just pay attention to the compression cracks. I may go back up this weekend. But heading to UP next Tuesday. thumbsup.png
If the snow they got yesterday/last night gets packed down it should be even better.
