There really aren't any good places to ride (that I'm aware of) in your area. Your best bet would probably be to go north up to the toll road, and take it over into Indiana. There are 3 riding areas in Northern Indiana: Potowatami Trail, Miami Trail, and Buffalo Run. All three are located close to the toll road.

don't go to indiana'a potowami they have been shut down for atleast 8 years. And there wasn't much to them anyway. Just get out in the fields and work your way around....just try not to piss any farmers off. theres not much snow anyway and if you have to ride at night and usually nobody can catch you.

I rode the Potawatami trail today. It's definitely open, and has a decent amount of snow. I also rode there 2 years ago, so I'm not sure about the comment on being closed down for 8 years. It's only 22 miles, but is probably the closest trail system to where you live.

So how are the potowami trails?
Not too bad really. Just too short. The trail is only 22 miles. I rode it twice in 2 hours, so I got about 44 miles of riding in. There's a golf course on the trail that I had a total blast playing around on. For me, it's about an 80 minute drive, and it's worth going to. I wouldn't drive much farther than that to ride it though.
I also rode Buffalo Run (near South Bend IN) this weekend for the first time. It's a really nice trail. I plan to go back when it's just a little bit warmer.
