I have used Race Logic Sport port templates to port my cylinders, easy to use, a realy great product!!
Last weekend I finally tested my Thundercat on a dyno, and was expecting 185 hp, but it made just above 200 hp on 3 runs.

Sounded much to me, but this dyno makes the same numbers as others in Norway and Sweden. A very well tuned Thundercat did make 170hp on this one..
It is a Thundercat 1000 year 2000, with the Sport port, shaved heads, I also ported the case, PSI modblaster pipes with stingers, 2 deg timing key, VForce3 reeds, Kickass filters, Cranck trued/welded...
So I will highly recommend this product to everyone who want`s to do their own porting! No reasen to ruin a great engine, those templates are cheap and Race Logic offers a great service. A friend of mine did his porting on his own and did get a peaky 170 hp.. maybe too much porting.?..

Now I just have to figure out the clutching.

What type of porting was done? Is it case and exaust port being widen?
TeleThunder
Yes, exaust has been widen, reshaped and also littlebit higher, intake is also worked on and case are widened. I think more people are widening the case and intake to create better flow now. Before it was more normal to remove material and reshape it trying to make the flow head uppwards, if you see what I mean.

Do you mean opening up the case insted of just taking the sharp angle of under the transfers?
TeleThunder
Talking more about the intake side, not remove much material uppwards. Try instead to make alle cornes rounder and intake wider so you make a nice flow path from reeds and into the transferports. So when pison is in bottom position there is still a flowpath from reeds to the transfer aroung the piston, if yo see what I mean. Not remove more material then nessesary, but remove the sharp corners under transferports, make a nice "flow" from the crank and up. Hard to explaine porting by words, specialy for an amateur like me:)
