My ProX2 has the standard shorty, albeit useless, windshield. After freezing my man parts this weekend I want something a little taller. Here's where is gets tricky/I get picky, I don't want the big flares on the sides meant for your hands. I have an 8" riser and they won't do me any good. Polaris used to offer something like this a few years back but does no longer. I have been through every catalog at two different dealers and can't find anything like it. Anyone have any suggestions? Anyone ever bought the plexiglass/lexan blanks and made their own?

I have not made my own, but I have taken a larger one and cut it down to the size I wanted. Acutally, the way I found out it is possible was once I cracked the top of a shield, so I took the edge off and cut the edge and the shield down. Worked out ok, but if I was doing it again, I would find a cheap used one first. They are too expensive to experiment on.

It wouldn't be to bad to make your own. I was thinking about doing it my self. Lexan is pretty easy to cut to as long it is not to thick. .030 thicknesses can be cut with a knife or scissors. Plexiglass is more brittle I would go with the lexan. You can get sheets of it at plastics suppliers. Glass shops carry sometimes as well. IF you are going to make it without flares and such it should be pretty simple. It will hold it shap for the most part if you bend it. You can also use some heat to give it some shape. sometime hard to make look good.

i would buy a used one, making one out of plexi glass can be dangerous, if you crasch and fly through the windshield you can slash your throat if itīs made out of plexiglass, when it breaks it turns into razorsharp pieces, lexan on the other hand i donīt know much about... hope you find what you are searching for...

Did you check cobra?? I believe Powermadd owns them now - I will look for a link.
I also had the useless stock windshield and a 8 inch Red Chrome when I bought mine. Got rid of them both and replaced with a 11 inch chrome with black flames. Handguards clear with the stock riser. They all have those flares you do not want though.

http://www.powermadd.com/products/POLARISedge.htmlI like the red skid plate, that's the color I was thinking of going with and the grey loops are a nice touch.
