I want to inform 07 Switchback 600 CFI owners that if you are boondocking, standing, getting from one running board to the other, your gas cap may come off. The threads on the new larger tank are so smooth that a quick spin and the cap is off or on. I hesitate to say tighten the cap real tight since there has been alot of gas tank necks broken in recent years from over tighening. Here what I do know. I was boondocking, jumping across the seat from side to side and all of the sudden I smell gas. I look down and the gas cap is gone, I think what am I going to do now, I am 50 miles from West Yellowstone and no Gas Cap. I start digging in the snow on the running boards and there it lays. We were riding in snow 4 feet deep, so I was very lucky. I will be going to my dealer today to buy a spare gas cap to tape somewhere under the hood. This is not a complaint, just something you should be aware of.

The tank uses a closed system for EPA certification. That also means that the tank is under positive pressure. I've had the cap unscrew itself after I loosened it at a gas stop.

Interesting, I never had this happen on my 06 Switch. I did get a gas cap on order today. I am also having some kind of fuel vapor valve installed that is supposed to help the low throttle burble, not really a bog just not clean at 1/8-to 1/4 Throttle, Like boondocking or trail cruising. This is not a recall yet. I brought my sled in earlier for the oil pump check, I now asked them to richen up the oil pump. Its pretty light on oil consumption.

To short, yet very fun. Trails were awsome. Get aways out of town and lots of untouched snow. Lions head, the front side, hardly any tracks, I have never been there in January before, snow was lower. Some rock ridges showing on LH. Baker Draw and Fish Creek Snow pole 4Feet, Mesa falls Snow pole just about feet. Plenty for great riding. As always people say no snow. I don't get that. The snow was fine.

Glad to hear you had a good time. After our conversation at Wheels, I did decide to put mine up for sale. Match the sled with the riding style. No takers at $5k, yet. Something about no snow, makes a tough sell.
