thinks of making my Gade a 144
but if i dont , i am going to upgrade my my 1.25 track. what will be better in the powder between the 2. a inch wider track and 1/4 inch less lug or 1/4 more lug ad inch narrower track

thanks for any advice

I would say definetly the wider track with the shorter lug. This has the same footprint as the 144 track that you want. No doubt the 16 wide will be better. but either way would be a significant improvement

I'd go for the deeper paddle and narrower track. The narrower track will allow the sled roll over for carving better. Whats more important carving or on the trails alot? If trails then the shorter lug. A 136x15x2 is a great all around track...in AK anything under 2" isn't a paddle track.

16" wide for sure. 1.75" is more than enough for the u.p. the added floatation of the 16" will make a lot more difference than an extra 1/4" in height.

I would go with the 16 wide track in a heartbeat as long as everything will fit without major alterations. For boondocking, you will likely be going a little slower and will want the added floatation of the wider track versus the extra little bit of lug height. I ride a Cat, but have ridden with Rev's, and am now a FIRM believer in the 16 wide tracks. None of the guys I ride with who have 16 wide tracks, anybody else I have talked to personally, or any reports on forums I have seen have ever said the wider track is harder to carve with.

It depends on how good of a rider you are really. These videos are all 121 x 1.75" tracks, these guys only had problems when the snow was bottomless.
