When I was riding last weekend, me and a friend had a collision in which my sled was damaged(hood, bellypan, shock, pipe). I also noticed after the wreck that both of my front motor mounts were broken. I'm starting to wonder though, if they were both broken before that. Sled seemed to be running fine before the wreck. Last summer i bought 90 duro mounts for it, but when installing them, two of them broke, so I now have 90 duro mounts on the back and the stock mounts on the front. To be honest, I was pretty pissed off that two brand new motor mounts could break just when installing them, especially when many people on this forum seem to praise the 90 duro mounts. I'm thinking I will go back to the stock mounts again, looking for opinions though, and other stuff to keep this motor in there.
I also have a N20iroc torque arm and 1200psi one-piece motor baseplate. Was thinking about adding the SLP mag side push arm as well, does it help? I just think there's got to be a way to keep these motors in there for more than 3-400 miles at a time. I've been putting the PTO side push arm snug against the motor, and slight pre-load on the torque arm.
I'm also running a 144"x15"x2" paddle track, with 20-42 gearing. I understand that the longtrack is probably harder on the mounts, but still the motor mount issue is rediculous(sp?) IMO. Anybody try any custom motor mounts or something similar?

I never used the 90 Duro mounts, but I have heard of them being bad. I would recomend the push arm though. I also had to get a hardend hiem joint for my torque arm when it busted, and replaced my broken motor mount with a stock one again. I broke the first mount and the torque arm after less than 100miles, and I added the push arm and fixed everything and rode real hard this weekend, and it is still holding up great. I would just replace your motor mounts with stock and add a good push arm. Should do the trick.

I would reallyliketo know how you guys break these MM's. I have 4900 miles on my sled with the clutching everyone says to use and have the torque arm snug. I don't have any other push arms on and have not snapped the mounts. Am I lucky????
I pulled the motor to check the pump belt and the mounts were snug as could be. Maybe I got a good set???

you are just lucky, these sleds eat engine mounts all the time, every friend and guy i know who has had or still running the pro X chassie has had problems with engine mounts at one time or another, the torque arm is vital in protecting the mounts,

I make solid aluminum mounts which don't break. The 90 durometer mounts are a joke, I've broke many of them, I quit using 'em.

still running the stockers on mine, looked 'em over real good when the motor was out late last season, all was still good... but i'm expecting them to go someday, i'll replace with stock when it happens since i've gotten 4 1/2 seasons out of em

Doesn't the sled shake like crazy with solid aluminum mounts, putting stress on the chassis? Is this even a viable(sp?) solution for a trail/mountain sled? I would be interested if they're as good as you say they are.

I can make them any thickness, I place a piece of scattershield rubber belting, (about .135") between the straps and the new mounts, but you can use anything or nothing, you will notice some vibration either way.
The CrankShop also sells these, --for Skidoo sleds.

Any modifying need to be done, or just thread them in like the stock motor mounts? What's the price? I'm interested in a set. Not sure what thickness I want, probably just stock or whatever you suggest. Increased vibes don't bother me.
