We rode 114 to 105 into Canaan, 105A to 96, down 106 to 102, turned around after crossing the rode (Rte 105) because it was bad, went up 102 to 114C to C102/114 then up 142. General observations: lots of deep bumps and the rock detectors, better known as ski runners, were going off an awful lot.
I was talking to someone in the parking lot as we loaded up to go home and his experience sounded more positive. He went 114N and took the left on 111 and headed to Norton. Something I thought about and maybe should have....
I will say that the base is hard and with 10+ more inches of snow in the area everything will be just fine. I hope to be back up there the first weekend in February.
I should also add that I don't think the temperature got into double digits and it was fairly windy - hence I didn't stop to make that many pictures.
