Well, as most of you know, the Buffalo Run trail has not been able to be "opened" because of one last landowner. At our meeting tonight we got confirmation that the last landowner signed today.
So, the next time it snows enough to ride, which could be Sunday, the trail will be marked as open and ride, ride, ride.
Several club members will be marking the missing secions on Saturday.
Thanks to F7snopro for joining the club and volunteering to put in signs tomorrow.
Next time it snows we need to get a group ride together.

I live on the Ohio/Indiana border just East of Decatur IN. I'd like to come over and try out the trail. I'd be driving over on the toll road. Can you give me directions on how to get to a good staging area from the toll road? (By the way, even though I live in Ohio, my sled is registered in Indiana. I did this so that my registration fees would go toward the Indiana trails. I ride the Heritage trail whenever it's open).

If you come over on the toll road, take exit 72, which is called the "South Bend West" exit.
Go South on US31 to SR2 West, this will be the second exit as you head south on 31.
Go West on SR2 (also called Western Avenue) for about 1/2 mile.
Look for the South Bend Speedway set back off the road on the left hand side of the road.
The Staging area is in the parking field for the speedway. There is a brown sign out by the road that says "Buffalo Run Snowmobile Trails".
Enjoy!

The trail is dirt, with a little mud and corn stalks mixed in. I can't believe how many sleds are out there today! Even I will ride when its thin, but this is reeeeaaaallllyyy thin.
I'm prayin that we get a good snow tomorrow.

System snow looks like it split to north and south, we're in the gap in the middle...figures. Remember 2-4" really means, 2 divide in half = 1"

Yeah, I saw on 16 last night that they were showing the system as most likely splitting in two and going north and south of us. I'll be damned if it didnt do just that!
Got maybe 1/2" more here.

Maybe 1" fresh in Laporte...any snow helps, but need a few more inches to be good again for local riding. GO BEARS/GO INDY
