The railtrail was groomed from St. Albans to the Motel just south of Richford.
We rode clear into Richford and Gassed up then ate at the Crossing in town.

Lots of the trails off the rail trail were groomed but food was on the mind so we went straight there.

There was plent of snow to go around on the rail trail but looked pretty thin every where else.

I would expect alot of traffic out there this weekend... ... ... ...

Sounds good. Did you drop in St. A's by McDonalds? Wondering how the connector up from Richford to Sylvesters in Montgomery is. That is one of my favorite trails when we have good snow. Had been thinking of trailering up to Montgomery but since now I'm living in Chittenden vs. Franklin County, it's a tad more of a drive and without a good report.....I guess I could always call Sylvesters! Glad to hear you got some riding in.

I live in Richford 1/2 mile off the trail that takes you from Richford town to Montgomery...
Pretty thin not groomed at least as of this am...As mentioned in the first post, the rail trail looks better then the woods...
I imagine up towards Jay you would have decent riding once you get onto the closed part of Rte 58.
I am probably headed to Island Pond Sunday.

We dropped right at the end of the rail trail by Go Go Gas... (Note: only 2.29/Gal there)

Didn't go past Richford so I can't answer that... Depending on what happens with Today s snow... We may try and ride from St. Albans to Richford them loop around through Jay down to Westfield around through Montgomery and return back on the rail trail... It will take another 3-4 inches to get me to try the adventure though....

Different Rail Trail. We are talking about the Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail that runs parallel to Route 105 in Franklin County.

700,

Is there an easy way to pick up the one to St J from Fairfax??

I belive the rail trail that goes all the way to St. J falls under the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail project that is underway. That rail is not completed to my knowledge. Someone can correct me if i am wrong.

Overreved,

Go to the VAST website it maps out the trail you are speaking of. www.vast.org

Yeah I know what your talking about. I rode alot the year before last either right out of St. A's mcdonalds or Sylvester's. Going through Hazen's notch and that trail they cut over the long trail was one of my favorites. Last year, I only was able to get out of Sylvester's once. Have a great ride and thanks for the info.
