OFSC Snowmobile Trails Are Now Closed
OFSC snowmobile trails on both public and private land across Ontario are
now officially closed. This province-wide snowmobiling closure includes all
water crossings that may have been marked during the past winter. Due to the
change of seasons, the high risk of naturally occurring hazards and very
dangerous conditions now make OFSC trails unsuitable for safe snowmobiling,
so the OFSC warns snowmobilers to avoid entering all OFSC trails again until
they are opened officially next winter for snowmobiling. Snowmobilers should
also avoid riding their sleds anywhere off of OFSC trails, and for safety's
sake, the OFSC is now advising all riders to put their snowmobiles away
until next winter.
Private land trails are now closed to all unauthorized activities. Anyone
engaging in any other recreational activity this spring, summer or fall is
reminded that all access to, or travel on, any OFSC snowmobile trail on
private land, without prior landowner permission for that activity, is
illegal and subject to trespassing charges.
The OFSC and its clubs thank all snowmobilers who supported us this
winter by purchasing a snowmobile trail permit and wish everyone a safe,
enjoyable summer.
Anyone else here this?
