1) "Norton Gas" burn't down last night. Just so you all know this is not the Norton Store. Its the small gas station that is next to the Candian Border. I really liked the kid that ran the place, plus they had a weekly lottery just for getten gas there. Very nice people.

2) Trails are in spring like condition with very low to no grooming. Some trails are nice and some wish you wern't there at all. Expect rocks, down tree's, branches, open water bars and gates still closed. Remember to go slow cause your gonna use the whole trail to avoid objects.

3) 111B loop is closed due to logging. It maybe open in certain area's like near trail 2000. But thats about it.

dgree forgot to mention that the downed trees and closed gates and open water are NOT on Drift Dusters Trail System. grinning-smiley-023.gif

Yes, there's only 2 gas stations around there and that was one of them. The other is Norton Store where they watch you pump gas with there binoculars.......

It was the small gas station where it looks like you heading to Canada. It wasn't as accessable as Norton Store, but I liked going there anyway. Seymour F7 turned me on to them.

BTW, there ARE SOME HIDDEN "OBSTACLES" in the trail. The conditions arent perfect. Trust me, my checkbook is feeling it right now.

I feel your pain. Last Feb when we finally got snow I went for a ride up in North Fayston and took out the upper and lower a-arms, front bulkhead, right shock, right spindle, right ski saddle, tie-rod, steering support and various other assorted parts. The complete repair ran just over $2000. REVs are great riding sleds but incredibly weak up front.

Good luck getting back on the trail ASAP.

Tony, On your favorite riding area you say your fav riding area is the trail to Koubecs... Are you talking St Zenon? If so, you must know about the purple light!

You're right, I am talking about the St Zenon area of Quebec. One of my favorite rides is from Real Masse to Koubecs for a bowl of chili and a beer while streching out on Koubec's couch by the roaring fire. Last winter I had a killer solo ride over to Koubecs on a moonlit night after the trail had been freshly groomed. It doesn't get any better.

Got to admit I don't know about the purple light. You've got to fill me in.

The pic is of me last March in front of Koubecs.

Yes Koubecs is nice. You dont know of any place in St Zenon that has a "purple lighted sign". Its a "bar" called... St Louis?

Also, I have had one of those nice moonlight rides to Koubecs. We were not far behind the groomer. As a matter of a fact he had afew beers with us! lol

Heres a pic:

For some reason we always seem to head out towards Koubecs for a nightcap and have never ridden into St Zenon for drinks. I will check out the purple light the next time I head up which will hopefuly be in the next couple of weeks and before we head to Gaspe in mid February.

Sounds like we might get some wrap around snow here in Vermont on Friday night. I hope we get slammed. grinning-smiley-023.gif

Make sure your vehicle, trailor and snowmobile insurance covers you in Canada. Knew someone that lost the whole shabang and didn't realize he had to contact his insurance company before going to Canada.
