http://www.rangeleysnowmobile.com/webcam.htmfrom website:
Trails remain closed (but see conditions below). If 6 inches fall today, grooming will begin tonight. The snow we have makes an excellent base especially on the trails that are on roads. As of 9AM Monday it is snowing hard and 3 inches has already fallen. Check back tomorrow morning for our first (we hope) grooming report here or on the snowphone.
Backcountry riding is available. If you go, please park off the roads as much as possible and do not ride any plowed road. Logging activity is very high on the Morton Cut-off Road and Lincoln Pond/ Tim Pond Roads and we are getting complaints about trucks and snowmobile trails nearly blocking the roads up there.
No ice is safe yet. The lakes are slowly refreezing but there is still much open water on Rangeley Lake. There is more encouraging weather ahead with cold temps and more snow in the forecast..
And please remember:
Maine state law states “no snowmobiling on plowed roads” – it is illegal whether there is a sign posted or not!

Well, I am impressed. The trails are better now than they were all last year. Everything in the woods that is not covered is a little thin, everything out in the open, most of it is mint. I expected to find washouts and big puddles, everything is mostly frozen over. The rr bed out of Oquossoc is flat. Not all the trails have been groomed yet. The trail that cuts over from Kennebago Mountain to the Stratton connector is not groomed. It isn't plowed, but trucks have been driving on some of it. All the signs are still up & I did not seen any "no snowmobiling" signs anywhere, don't know what that is about. It is still on the 06-07 map. There is some rerouting from the Clubouse trail junction to Oquossoc, and the Stratton trail is plowed from the connector all the way down to Reddington Road. Definately have an excellent base. Even the parts that were not groomed yet were good. No warms ups in the forecast, I'd say come on up for Snodeo. I'd give it a 7 on a scale from 1-10. I talked to a guy that was out at Bosebuck, said it was awesome, except for Daddys Ridge. I passed the groomer on the way in to Oquossoc, he was heading out to NH border. Rode 75 miles, some good riding out there. More snow out by Kennebago Mountain, didn't go up it. I plan on going out again tomorrow night & head out to Bosebuck.

Thanks Chumslick, its nice to have someone local that rides to get an update from. We do all our riding from Rangeley.
My wife and I will be up Thursday night, we will be riding Friday morning before the madness starts on Saturday. I'm
hoping she can find some riding partners so I can go out and play in the woods but if not it's ok because the trails do
look good,nice pics.

talked with a couple guys that were running the groomer in oquossoc. He said they were going out to pan the trails to hopefully set it up for this weekend. He said everything was in good shape, but daddy's ridge was a bit boney. Other than that the ITS trails looked better than the logging road we used to get into the back country!

Hopefully they use the rollers and don't damage the drags.
