Can anybody help me out here with the torq specs for a 99 Zr 600 EFI will be putting it back together tomorrow night most likely and I'll need to know this, also has anybody ever had problems with one of these sleds burning pistons and what are some possible places where you would get air leaks I need to figure this machine out before I run it again. Had it to the dealer but they were no help as they are closing for buisness so any help would be appreciated. Thanks Guys!

check your intake manifolds for cracks, and dry-rot. they are really bad about this.

like rips said, CHECK INTAKE BOOTS very well or you could end up leaning it out and ripping it apart again, had to replace mine this yr when I redid my engine. I think but I could be wrong that the torq spec for the head is 18-20 lbs

Anybody else know the torq specs for the cylinder and head for a 99 Zr 600 EFI!!!

I have noticed small cracks in the intake boots thinking that could've been it but to be sure someobdy told me that when I get it back together start it up and spray starter fluid on the boots and if the engine revs that means it has an air leak coming through the boots!!

If you can see the cracks in the boots, you should replace them. I believe the torque specs for the cylinder base is 29-40 ft/lbs.
