when i was running the trails on friday my rear end was sliding around everywhere when running at trail speed 40-60kms per hour the track is studded and the carbides are good, tryed sitting farther back on my seat rather then my ussual hugging the tank and that helped a little bit but i think there is something else I need to adjust what can i do to keep this 2000 mxz planted in a straight line, would adjusting the limiter straps help?

Which system does your sled have? SC-II?

Did you check your track tention? I am no wrench but I have a manual for 2001 and up (SC-II or 10).

Ok, give me a minute and I will read the trouble shooting section.

Do you have the manual for your sled ? Some good info on how to adjust your suspension

Well, there is no mention in the shop manual for you question.

The limiter strap will not solve you problem. In the manual it states that tightening or loosing will either lift you skies or keep them down (I guess one could do a CatWalk if you wanted). If you do mess with the straps you must adjust the track tension.

I would try a few simple things first,
1. Checked for broken parts, springs, shock rebuild etc.
2. Check your track tension (does the track make a thumbing sound)
3. Try adjusting the blocks at the rear of the skid, Coupler Blocks. This may be it, I checked the owners manual...........

Note: this is from the manual:
For less track grip:
1. Thicker part of the block facing rearward (fully coupled suspension) - less track grip and more skis steering.
2. Turn block in from front of machine to wards the back to adjust to the next position

For More Track Grip:
1. Thicker part of the block facing downward (partly coupled suspension) - more track grip and less skis steering.
2. Turn block from back of the machine to wards the front one position.

Good luck,

center shock is too stiff.....
