Does anyone know if there is a lake in the NEK that has enough ice to be safe to fish on? I want to plan a trip up with me and a buddy since we don't have any trails to ride. I need something to keep me sane and drinking beer around a icehole will do the trick :celebrating:

Not Harvey's Lake in Barnet

Edges of Lake Memphremagog and South Bay in Newport they are fishing on but not much else. Nothing else if it has ice on it is safe. I am in the same boat is you in the last couple of years got equipped again for ice fishing auger portable shanty etc now cant even use that stuff. Cant even trailer a decent distance for a day ride which I could last year at this time. Been thinking about going up to Bosebuck went there last March once but heard its pretty busy on weekends. Resorted to having some remodeling done in the house that will be done in one week then will have to find other projects. Even went Rabbit hunting last sun hadnt done that since highschool.

A friend was fishing S Bay a week ago Sat and was catching just little perch so he decided to wander up the lake and see what was happening. There was ice out a ways from shore and there was one person fishing just up from the fishing access. He walked up to see what was going on. He yelled out to the fisherman who was out about 100' and asked how thick the ice was. The fisherman yelled back 3"s. Friend noticed a rope from the fisherman to a tree and yells out I see you've got a safety rope. Fisherman yells back Yea I'm not stupid, I fell through the other day.

Now I consider myself a devoted fishermen but i'm not going to but my life in danger. I think i'll wait till the ice is thicker

I have 8" or so on my pool.... For the right price I will stock it with a few trout and hide some Budwisers in the snow drifts? ? ? ?
