Help, ready to load my sled on trailer. New belt is squealing on primary, at idle. When I engage it it goes away. All I did was service D Drive. (removal) Had a D&D bearing put in the secondary to help my backshift. It goes against the spring and the plastic spacer it rides on. It has to be some kind of alignment problem. Never touch the motor mounts or nothing like that.

Had the same problem. Put some miles on and it will go away!!!

Had it too and it went away with some riding. don't know if the belt streched or just got broke in?

My sled has 2100 miles on the original belt. I put a new one on just go with it, you think?

I hope you removed that black plastic washer - I dont know what you mean "the plastic spacer it rides on" ???

Anyways with the D@D shift assist you should have got two metal washers and a bearing
Remove factory black plastic washer behind secondary spring and replace with D@D shift assist

With the new belt - Your belt deflection just became tighter

With this being said your belt (Kevlar/rock hard 036) is a little tight in the primary clutch making a squealing noise at idle

Either live with it , and give the belt a chance to break-in and see what happens

Or start playing with your belt deflection adjuster and shims

Your new belt is thicker making it stand out of the driven farther shortening the belt up and causing it to rub on the primary at idle. You need to adjust your deflection which you should always keep an eye on to get the most performance and longevity out of your belt. Put the black diamond adjuster on and get there tool only take a few secs to adjust the deflection then.

Thanks I never thought about the squel in that sense. I thought it was chatching the side of the primary. Not draging on the shaft becouse the belt is to tight, becouse of the deflection. It is riding a little higher then normal.

No problem it seems to be a more noticable problem with the DD and the new belts. I don't remeber exactly how you adjust the deflection with the stock setup but its in your book along with the setting.

Remove shims from the plastic adjuster until belt noise goes away, will probally only have to remove one thick shim.
f7nomore
leave it you want a tight belt and a loose track.
