For what it's worth, here's what Bathurst Trail's condition's were as of yesterday. Jan 10.

Wednesday, 7 AM, Club #1, Jan 10 (1/10/2007)
We got 10 to 13 centimeters in the Bathurst area on Monday. This snow is still with us. As the temperatures in the Bathurst area will remain in the 0 to –10 C area for the remainder of the week and the short range forecast is anywhere from 30 to 60 % chance of flurries for 4 out of the next 5 days. There have been people inquiring about the possibility of snowmobiling in the upper reaches of our system around Governor’s and Serpentine and over to Island Lake. We’re not condoning anyone for sledding in this area, however there are some people out there doing so but with caution. Try and carry a fold away saw with you. Beneath that snow there is ice and other unknowns. Remember that the trails are still closed. Don’t sled from Bathurst. The idea is to trailer to somewhere (ex. Roger’s Lake / Heath Steele Bridge, along highway 180, maybe from Chaleur Club) and go from there. (If you are driving your vehicle on non paved roads it can be quite treacherous as there is a lot of ice.) Remember to drive with caution and don’t do anything foolish if you decide to go. Take your time and enjoy. The trail system and Nepisiguit Lodge (except for suppers) are closed until we start grooming. For more detailed info you would have to contact us with your questions. Please read the Tuesday report for more info. Supper 7PM tonight at the lodge.
Below is the link the report came from. It's usually updated daily or at least a few times a week.
